Rossi Rubino Antico by Savinelli - Handmade Wood Briar Pipe, Deep Red, Hand Brushed, Polished Finish, 6mm (Brown-Red 8606)

This is my first higher priced pipe I have purchased and it's well Worth it! Great pipe, smokes good and looks beautiful. Size is good the briar wood is durable. It does what it's meant for and does it well.

I was amazed at how well this little oom paul smoked. I was aware that Rossi were Savinelli seconds and to expect some possible cosmetic or quality issues compared to a Savinelli. But this has very nice grain, fit and finish are first rate, and it smokes wonderfully using the 6mm balsa filters. One is in the pipe as well as an adapter in the package if you don’t want to use a filter. I ordered more balsa filters right after my first smoke as I really enjoyed the dry smoke. It didn’t interfere with flavor or smoke quality at all, just kept it nice and dry. I comfortably smoked twice after letting the pipe and filter cool and dry. For me and my aromatics twice seems like a good balance per filter for this specific pipe. The pipe is beautiful, clenches well, light weight but feels high quality. Most importantly is the smoking. Fantastic. I was happy enough with it that I have ordered a second Rossi today (2 days after receiving this one). I highly recommend these if you are on a budget or just don’t feel the need to spend more than you have to for an enjoyable smoke. I hope this helps.

Fast shipping. <24hours. Smokes great. Was worried about a “longer” break-in. Not an issue. Comes with a balsa filter and spacer (tighter flow). Will buy more Rossi’s for sure. I dont feel like it’s a “value” pipe at all. Very smooth and dry smoker. Quality is top notch!

This smokes just as well as a savinelli 673. Love the grain, size and weight of this pipe. Very well made pipe!

First of all the packaging was pretty bad. I know it’s a cheap pipe, but just an envelope? Box inside the envelope was smashed. Luckily the pipe was undamaged. So far the pipe smokes pretty hot. Doesn’t have the easiest draft hole. Hopefully after I develop smoke cake it should smoke better. It feels like really cheap briar. To compare I’ve bought basket pipes that had more heft to them. The Zulu shape is quite nice. The finish looks really good. I just figure for a few dollars more you could just get a true savinelli. Overall I personally wouldn’t buy this pipe again. It will smoke ok and I will smoke it. Took a chance and just wasn’t what I was hoping for. Still for the price it’s not that bad.

I purchased this specifically as a gift and, frankly, the unboxing experience was embarrassing. Despite the price point, the packaging feels very low-end, like something you'd pick up for $10. It really lowers the perceived value of the item. Just a heads up to anyone planning to give this to someone else… you will likely need to repackage it.

My father in law loved this pipe. We gave it to him for Christmas to add to his pipe collection
