The Gemnique gems (in red) were colored all the way through--no worries about the coloring flaking or bubbling off after being submerged in water. Came very well packaged--gems were in a hard plastic jar, with a foam insert at the top to keep them from rattling around. Each jar was in it's own small cardboard box. I ordered two 4 lb jars (of the "standard" size)--no broken or cracked gems in either jar. They worked perfectly for the humidity tray, and look fantastic. It comes packaged in a plastic jar the screws shut, with a pad inside to protect during shipping, so all gems were in tact. I had well over 50 stones (probably between 60-70). This was the perfect solution. The amount of rocks was exactly what I needed to fill up the little pot. They are large and sturdy enough to hold up the tulips which were all bound together. The flowers are up high so you can't see the rocks but if I had this on a table that was visible it also looks very nice.
