Ordered 2 humane mouse traps last October '25. One unit caught 1 mouse, otherwise they haven't worked. What they have done is feed mice and use batteries. I've read all the good reviews of this product and just a few too many reviews share a "long tutorial" theme which should have been a red flag. So, put in fresh double A's, inspect/clean the metal bases and make sure no food or debris or whatever ekes over from the bait compartment because its game over if those metal plates get compromised. Place against wall. Bait with a partial nugget of cracklin oat bran dashed with peanut butter, lowered into place - tweezers, glove-draped hands. 12 hours later the bait is stripped of peanut butter, no flashing light, no sign the trap was even entered by a mouse. Repeat this process enough and you wonder - do the mice eat through the vent holes by the bait zone? Do I have 2 units with short circuits? I could send a lot of time on these mouse traps. I could set up infrared cameras. Get out my electronic testing equipment. Whatever it is, I'm done. They're still brand-new. Its too awkward trying to smear bait into the bait zone in the first place. Q-tips, whatever ... back to other techniques, including the drowning buckets. If you need to literally 'take a class' to use a mousetrap and set up a shop area to keep the mousetrap working, etc., maybe you're looking at a poorly designed mouse trap.
