Okay, I’m retired now & do a bit of traveling with girlfriends. Since I travelled a lot during my software career I wanted to get rid of the set of luggage I had when I worked. Had always purchased Samsonite sets so thought I would start there. Decided hard back & glad I did. Selected the Caribbean Blue because one thing you learn when you fly a great deal is the more boring your luggage the greater the likelihood that it will get stolen. Nobody is going to steal this bright blue suitcase & run through the airport with it. It’s too easy to spot. And oh, you can pick your luggage out on the arrival carousel quickly. The blue color is not a loud, brash blue. It’s a fun, I’m on vacation, blue. Originally, I bought only the carryon just to test out the hard surface feature. It’s lightweight & is so easy to maneuver, especially if you have a couple pieces. The only thing I wish was different. They don’t have separate compartments to keep your items organized. There’s only one long zippered compartment on the fold of the suitcase. And there’s a sneaky compartment too. On the inside on the side that has the handle you will see a long zipper. I roll up my jeans & put them between the handles which gives you more room AND it helps to keep your clothes flat. Otherwise the handle bars will crease your clothes. Buy some additional toiletry bags or if you have some from other luggage sets, use them. My older Samsonite luggage had extra bags, etc & I just use them. So, yes I purchased the 24” as well. Heads-up….Amazon sells the luggage straps that you can use with this set. Say, 10 dollars for 2. Literally you can attach the handle of the smaller luggage to the extended handle of the larger bag, put your tote bag on top of the larger bags, wrapping the handles around the extended handle & use one hand to pull all your luggage so you can enjoy a cup of coffee in your other hand. Once you attach it a couple times you can do it pretty quickly, in the middle of the night, in the dark. It’s very smooth, especially in busy airports. It’s just ingenious. So, if you see someone in an airport with Caribbean Blue luggage strapped together like I’m the boss, be sure to stop me & say hello.

I recently picked up a travel suitcase from Samsonite, and I’ve got to say—it’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve made for traveling. The quality is top-tier: sturdy, smooth-rolling wheels, and plenty of space without feeling bulky. You can tell it’s built to last. What really surprised me was the price. It was actually better than anything I found at my local stores, which made the deal even sweeter. Getting that level of durability and style without overpaying is a huge win. Overall, I’m more than happy with it and feel totally ready for my trip. If you’re in the market for reliable luggage, this is definitely the way to go.

UPDATE (11/22/2018) I took the middle suitcase with me to Europe. I traveled to London, Brussels, Munich, back to Brussels, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, back to London, Bristol, Bath, London again before returning to LA in a matter of a few weeks. I traveled by plane (checked baggage), train, bus, Uber’s, subway, and on foot. I can proudly say this suitcase is tuff as nails. I really pushed it past it’s limit and then some. It’s survived gravel, cobblestone roads, and even being dragged up and down stairs by the handle (I know, I know, you’re not SUPPOSED to do that) and it survived without a scratch on the suitcase itself. Which wouldn’t bother me anyway. They’re like a sign of being well travelled, but I digress. The wheels are scratched up, but that’s about it. Lastly, towards the middle through the end of my trip, I tied a duffle bag with a luggage bungee cord (also purchased on Amazon) which just added more weight. The suitcase did not fall over. I highly recommend these suitcases! It’s a great investment. —— These just arrived so I’ll update my review after my upcoming trip to Europe. Let me preface this review by saying I’ve only owned the old fashioned fabric suitcases with wheels. My motivation for ordering a more hard shell set of suit cases was for some type of protection against the rain. My last two trips to Central America and Europe were not great. On several occasions my fabric suit cases got soaked in the rain and so did all my stuff. Any who, I did a lot of research before picking this set. I was leaning towards the Amazon brand because I can be cheap, but these had such great reviews. I figured the extra bucks were worth it. I wanted the Caribbean Blue so bad. It looks gorgeous in the photos! But I’m cheap so I ordered black. Still gorgeous. It rolls fine even on carpet so I expect it will survive cobblestone roads. The hard shell case looks protective, but then again I understand it not impenetrable. I expect it will likely get scratches, but that’s the price you pay for frequent travel. I had read other reviews about some annoying plastic on each suitcase. Either it varies by seller or perhaps several sellers have now listened and made changes. Unpacking was simple. It arrived as expected and on time. Each individual suit case was simply wrapped in a plastic bag, similar to a dry cleaners. Then they were stacked into each other similar to Russian dolls. It arrived in one box. My only complaint is there were no instructions for setting up the locks. I had to search for a video on YouTube. I went ahead and posted a video with my review. Hopefully it’s helpful! Thankfully, I have yet to have an issue with getting my luggage mixed up at the carousel so that’s not a concern even now. But I’ll still secretly thing of the Caribbean Blue I was too cheap to pay for. I purchased these for an upcoming trip to Europe later this month so I’ll definitely provide an update once I’m back in October.

purchased this suitcase in August 2017 and have been using it ever since. It has held up very well over the years with no major issues. The only part I had to replace was the TSA lock, but everything else is still working great. The wheels roll smoothly, the handle is sturdy, and I'm still very satisfied with this suitcase.

This is one of the most spacious AND lightest carry-on rollers on the market. I can easily pack 5 days worth of clothes in this suit case. Two things that caused me not to give it 5 stars: 1. The wheels aren’t great. Immediately I noticed that and it wasn’t as smooth as my TravelPro. Reading the reviews, you’ll see that, and bad wheels can lead to future problems if you ever take this suitcase on anything other than a smooth indoor floor. I decided to buy nice (roller-blade like) wheels with sealed bearings. You’ll need 43x18mm to fit this suitcase. Also, you’ll need a hacksaw to remove the old wheels. There’s YouTube videos out there if you need help. 2. The collapsing handle has a lot of give in it and the original wheels will make it worse overtime. There are some internal screws that you can tighten. Also, you don’t need to fully extend the handle when in use. Pull it all the way up, then drop it down one notch. This reduces the “wobblyness” in the handle. With these adjustments, this is a great suitcase in the $100 range. The finish is nice and does not scuff like the Away and Monos that are $250 and higher. My wife has the Monos equivalent to mine and it is a superb piece of luggage at more than twice the price as my Samsonite. That being said, I’m now extremely happy with this Samsonite after the upgraded wheels.

We took these cases on a 3 week trip to Iceland, Norway, Scotland and England. They worked great. Purchased two colors. Silver and purple. Good value for the cost. Held up great. The silver ones did get a few marks from the airport. The purple did not as they are darker. Size was perfect.

My husband and I bought two of these suitcases for a three week trip to Europe and this trip is the first time we’ve used them. Not their most expensive suitcase, but Samsonite is a reputable brand, so thought they would work. The case held up fine through four airports. But a little over a week into the trip, two wheels on my wife’s suitcase are almost totally wore off and all of the wheels are showing a lot of wear. And this was not a week of dragging suitcases over cobblestones. Most of those days, the suitcases were sitting in a hotel room. We’re talking rolling through an airport to a taxi, from a taxi into a hotel. Three days later, rolling three blocks on city sidewalks to a train station, then from a train station to another hotel, again on sidewalks. Another week in a hotel room, then rolling on sidewalks to the train station. Another short walk (literally across the street) to another hotel. Then maybe a six block walk (on sidewalks) to our cruise ship. This suitcase has a 10 year warranty, so for the wheels to wear this badly is a great disappointment. And despite the shortness of use, the warranty doesn’t cover “wear and tear”. So I cannot say forcefully enough to not buy this suitcase! And I can confidently say that I am done with Samsonite luggage.

These locks are like little bouncers for my belongings, ensuring that my valuables stay safe and sound without any hassle at security. The locks also make me feel like a secret agent every time I pop them open, ready to reveal my perfectly packed wardrobe to the world (or just to the TSA agent). The interiors of these cases are equally impressive. Spacious and organized, with enough room to fit all my travel essentials and then some. And let’s not forget the little compartments that make me feel super organized (even if it’s just an illusion). In conclusion, this Samsonite luggage set has transformed my travel game. They’re stylish, practical, and give me an extra spring in my step as I navigate through airports. If you want to travel in style and make your luggage part of the vacation vibes, do yourself a favor and get this set. Just be prepared for a few envious glances and possibly some fan mail for your fabulous taste in luggage. Bon voyage!

I had my previous Samsonite for about 15 years before one of the airlines trashed it, was so happy with quality and durability that I wanted another Samsonite. Although a somewhat boring black colour, this is excellent quality and at a great price point. Very happy with this replacement for an old favourite
