Simple, Compact, and Makes Great Rice
The Aroma Housewares 4-Cup Rice & Grain Cooker has been a great little appliance for our kitchen. Itโs compact, easy to use, and makes cooking rice simple and convenient. Just add the ingredients, press the button, and it takes care of the rest. The size is perfect for smaller portions and doesnโt take up much counter space, which is a big plus. The rice comes out consistently cooked, and it works well for everyday meals. Itโs also versatile enough to handle different grains, making it useful beyond just rice. Cleanup is easy, and the simple design makes it very user-friendly. There are no complicated settings to figure out, which is nice when you just want a reliable cooker that gets the job done. For the price and convenience, this Aroma rice cooker is a great value. Itโs a perfect choice for anyone who wants an affordable, compact cooker that makes delicious rice with minimal effort.

Perfect and Adorable
This thing is even cuter in person! It's very simple, only a few parts, and very easy to use. It's even smaller than I thought so it looks cute on the countertop without taking up much space at all. All the pieces that touch food can go in the dishwasher and it even has its own measuring cup that you can just store in it. 10/10

Small But Mighty
I used to bake my rice and it came out perfect every time. I donโt know what changed (there must be a scientific reason) but it started coming out burnt. Same pot, same prep, same measurements. I surrendered and bought this AROMA Mini Rice Cooker. Yes. This is very small. It makes about 4 cups of rice. NOTE: The max white raw rice you put in it is 1.5 cups. Pour water up to the โmaxโ line inside the interior pan. The instruction booklet says that the measuring cup that comes with it is 3/4 cups. So when they say 1 cup โ if you use your own measuring cup, measure out 3/4 cup. Brown rice is cooked differently. What worked for me was one (1) measured cup (NOT 3/4 cup) to 2 cups of water. I added 1/4 teaspoon of pink Himalayan salt and 2 tablespoons of butter after the unit switched to warm. I mixed the rice โ using the included white plastic paddle โ to distribute any remaining moisture equally throughout the rice. I put the cover back on, then unplugged the unit and allowed the rice to continue to steam for another 10 minutes. Butter and salt are optional. To increase the longevity of the unit, only use the provided plastic paddle or, and I think preferably, use silicone tools. ONLY hand wash the components with mild detergent and a soft sponge. This will extend the life of the nonstick insert. Itโs small. You can handle it. I highly recommend this small but mighty rice cooker.

An Almost Perfect Unique Compromise
I have been using this particular Aroma model for a few months now Generally, I've been very pleased with it. It has been very reliable, easy to clean & maintain, plus looks nice on the counter when not in use. The soft blue color adds a bit of color to a otherwise very drab room. The size is a perfect one for the various assorted dishes I cook in it. It's not too big or small for the amount of food intended to be made in it. "4 cup" is somewhat meaningless to me as I very rarely cook any rice or other grains in it. The dimensions & shape of the inner pot is more how I select a particular rice cooker to do what I want with it. Whether I'm in the market for a new one or just selecting which one(s) I already have to use on a particular day. It's was purchased to be an alternative to using a regular stove's burners or even the oven just like the others were. I own several now, purchased over the years besides this new one discussed here in this review. I usually use one at a time or sometimes even 2 of these small appliances to make mostly all I eat daily now. This is my first Aroma rice cooker. It runs a bit hotter than the slightly lower wattage (heat?) of other similar size brands. I simply prepare to generally shorten my actual cooking time when using this one. The only reason why I didn't give a 5 star excellent rating is this particular one I received operating lever switch sometimes doesn't stay in the COOK mode when depressed. I use a bit of transparent tape to hold in down without popping back up all the time. It works fine & I didn't want to take a chance to returns it. The next one might be worse! I generally recommend this rice cooker. It's basic & no frills. Perfect size for most 1-2 people's needs & portion control. Which is the #1 reason why I use any and all of these basic, mechanical "rice cookers" in the first place. And these types of Rice Cookers are an introduction to regulating food waste to almost zero! A huge help in these dark unpredictable times.

Cleans easily, easy to use.
I love this rice cooker and use it regularly. It is easy to use and just the right size for my family of four. I love being able to set it up and let it cook while I concentrate on cooking other parts of my meal. I have used it to cook rice, long cook grits, and polenta. It cleans up easily, too. Still working after several years of use!

My favorite lil gadget!!
Quite possibly my favorite kitchen cooking gadget! My very first rice cooker too so I didnโt know what to expect but itโs perfect! Small so it fits in my lil kitchen& easy to use too! It also cooks rice perfectly in 10-15 minutes and automatically turns off and switches to warm setting till you are ready to serve it! I usually cook 1 1/2 cups of rice rather than 2 because I like to add a lil additional water to my jasmine rice to make it extra fluffy and sticky but Iโve also cooked it regular without adding extra water while cooking and it came out awesome too! Worth the value especially for single people or students and cleans up easy too since the basin is non stick - I LOVE IT

Great product, not great troubleshooting
When I unpacked the rice cooker, it wouldnโt turn on. There was nothing I could do to convince the button to stay switched to โcookโ. I reached out directly to Aroma support but they took a while to get back to me, and in the meantime husband had a tinker around with it. It turned out that the middle of the heating element that pressed down when the inner bowl is in place needed to be adjusted and turned just a little (with the thing unplugged, make good choices folks!), and we were finally in business. I feel this type of information could be included in the troubleshooting section of the manual, it seems like something that probably happens often. When support got back to me, the follow up questions they asked didnโt have much to do with the problem or the fix, but whatever itโs fixed now. It works well, washes nicely. The manual doesnโt give any info about water ratios of anything other than rice, so although it can handle multiple types of grains, it doesnโt tell you how to cook them. I have found that many packages have that info on them though, and itโs typically the same ratio as stove top cooking. Bonus points for a cute colour and a delightfully small countertop footprint. The inner bowl and lid seem to go happily through the dishwasher, though I recommend drying the bowl as soon as possible.

For US MARKET
Not for use in U.K. wrong plug and incorrect voltage. Only plus in this saga was the painless returns process. Hats off to the supplier.

Little but mighty
Never would I have ever expected for this ricecooker to work so well! When it arrived and I saw how small it was I honestly felt a little doubtful but once I tried it on its actually very good! It does say 4 cups but that's once it's made your only really able to make 1.5 cups so 3 cups once cooked. If you put 2 cups of dried rice by the time it cooks and expands it won't cook fully since it will pretty much pack it to them brim. Good if its for 2 people maybe 3 max
