Review: Very good, especially considering the price point - Very good, especially considering the price point. What matters to me: - Has both OVP and OCP. Quite a few more expensive power supplies have no OCP. - Good UI. The default view shows everything you normally care about. This is much better than 7-segments. I switched UI color to white for more contrast. - Good accuracy. I measured it with my Fluke 87V both un-loaded and loaded (although my DUT consumed only <0.5A total). You probably don't need that much voltage accuracy (current is another thing though) but it doesn't hurt to have it. - Ramp up seems smooth (again according to my Fluke 87V). I should have measured it with my new scope (also Rigol) though. Catches: - I know some people are bothered by the unconventional numpad layout (old-styled pulse-train telephone anyone?) but I find it okay. - Ch2 and Ch3 share the same negative terminal potential. Ch3 is intended to be a digital supply anyway (5V max) so it doesn't bother me as much.

**Q: Does this supply have terminals for remote voltage sense?**
A: No it does not

**Q: The manual states this is series/parallel capable.  Will the total amps in parallel be 6A or 9A? (As channel 2 & 3 are linked)**
A: You can only link channel 1 and 2. Channel 2 and 3 have common ground.

**Q: does it have the new thermal fix?**
A: Yes they do.

**Q: Is it required to ground the chassis if I am using uk plug(wall socket) which uses a third pin for ground?**
A: “One way to see that the chassis is grounded is to test (continuity) from the 3rd ground pin(on the plug) and the ground screw on the back of the unit. I've always been under the assumption that these units have that rear chassis ground to connect other instruments to - in a way that assures a common reference plane between power source and instrumentation. Standard practice may dictate that you ground the chassis.”

Ever wonder why it's cheaper than sellers outside? Old stock from years ago. The one I ordered was calibrated a year ago and was manufactured way earlier than that. Other than that, you can trust Rigol. Regarding the power supply itself, the display was a bit too small, but everything seemed money oriented. there are many features 'locked' in the power supply. You can 'unlock' them by purchasing keys, which effectively makes it DP832A, the more expensive variant.
