nice watch, budget friendly
I had originally ordered an off-brand smart watch, which I packed up and returned within 30 minutes of opening the package. Let's just say you get what you pay for. I did some research and started thinking more about the features that were the most important to me. Price, of course, needed to be budget-friendly. I snagged this watch on Amazon for $60. I didn't need to be able to make calls or return texts, but thought it would be nice to know when someone called or texted if I didn't have my phone in front of me. I wanted to count steps, count calories, track my sleep and check my vitals. And... its been a long time since I've actually worn a watch for telling time, and since I am a teacher, it would be nice to not have to rely on my phone or an imprecise analog wall clock. I wanted something big enough for my old eyes to see, but not something huge and uncomfortable. After doing some research and comparing models and features, I decided on the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity. It had everything I was looking for, was a name brand, and received high ratings. Upon receiving the watch, I was immediately impressed. It was nicely packaged, and came with thorough instructions (not just 6 bullet points, but THOROUGH instructions written in clear English). Instructions can also be found online and are downloadable to your phone. However, I haven't had to refer to the manual too many times because the watch and Zepp app are so easy to navigate. The step count seems accurate. I can set the watch to measure calories and vitals when using my eliptical machine (or most other activities for that matter). The Zepp app allows for tracking calorie intake. You can type in the food or scan a label- which is super handy! I have not used this part of the app because I use a different app for that (mynetdiary). At this time the mynetdiary app does not sync with the Bip 5 Unity, so in the future I may consider switching my dietary tracking to the Zepp app so that I have all of the information in one place. The watch does sync with some of the other fitness apps out there (see the Amazon description). The watch can measure heart rate, O2 saturation, sleep, stress level, steps, calories, and gives a PAI score (look online for an explanation of this). You can customize how often you want your vitals to be monitored (The more frequently you monitor, the more battery it uses). The display is easy to read, even for these old eyes. I can use quick reply texts, which can be edited to meet my needs. I can send emojis also. I can get calendar reminders and notifications for any other app that I want to have connected to my watch. I can receive emails to my watch- depending on the graphics of the email, I may not necessarily see everything, but I see enough to know if I need to respond right away. The watch does not support wifi- it connects to the phone via wifi, and can be used to track vitals when not connected to the phone. I cannot make calls on the watch; there is no microphone or speaker. It only vibrates. I like that I can use the watch to locate my phone when it's connected via bluetooth because I misplace my phone at least 5 times a day. The wrist band is comfortable. The extra length tucks down under the band, out of the way. It's comfortable to wear at night. This is a big win for me because I usually take off all of my accessories as soon as I get home from work so that I can feel comfortable. If the band doesn't work for you, you can find compatible bands online. I've only had the watch for 3 days, so I don't know about the battery life yet. I have been using it a lot so far because it is new and I am still learning all the features. On day 3, I am at 42% with moderate use. I have the screen dimmed down to about 50% for everyday use. It seemed a little dim while driving, but I think it will be easier to see outdoors if I turn up the screen brightness a bit. I will test this out on an upcoming trip. Of course, this will impact battery life also. The watch faces are easy to change. There are several free faces and others you can pay for. Some faces show more information than others. You can choose a face to fit your style and needs. You can use a picture of your own for a watch face and you can choose what information you want to be displayed (e.g. time, temperature, heart rate). My daughter has fun changing the watch faces using the app. I bought a package of soft clear TPU cases to protect the face of the watch from scratches (available on Amazon). The screen does not have an "always on" setting. I thought this might bother me, but all I have to do is turn my wrist to look at the face and the screen turns on for a few seconds. I have a small arm, and the watch face is big (but most smart watches are!), but I don't mind this, because I can see the screen better. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this watch for someone who is looking for a basic smart watch without a ton of bells and whistles. Update to post: the silicone band was becoming uncomfortable because it would stick to my arm, especially when it was hot outside or when I was sweaty. I bought a set of 22mm stretchy nylon bands and replaced the silicone band. Problem solved. Also, it is possible to lock the screen so it is "always on."

Great Value for a Great Watch
Originally wanted an Apple Watch. Decided to buy this to see if I even wanted anything at all. I was pleasantly surprised! Well made. Comfortable. Long-lasting battery. Can receive texts and calls coming through (just can’t talk or text through the watch, but that’s ok for me). The Zepp app works well too. I think the only improvement I’d like to see for that is the food log. I’m used to the Calorie Count app where you scan the barcode. The food log has an AI powered assistant. The Zepp app logs food through photo, text or voice. It occasionally gets it wrong, but there’s the ability to edit an incorrect item. Overall, I really like it! And now I don’t think I need or want an Apple Watch.

Love it
I have had this product for 4 months now and I love it. I owned 2 Fitbits and could not stand them. The issue with them was syncing, battery charging/charger (buying a new charger every 6 months due to the flexible prongs getting stuck inside the battery box), and charging it every other day, alarm would go off but it would be on the home screen and impossible to turn off....and the list continues, however, I had enough. This watch in my opinion is amazing. I don't use it for a majority of the things it offers but it does what I need it to do. The battery last at least 2 wks before charging (I don't use it for music & I occasionally may use it to pick up a phone call under 30 seconds). The alarm I have had no issues. I can upload watch faces in under 10 seconds, and with the Fitbit there were always issues and long delays. The reason for the 4 star: - Cons are the lock screen. This wasn't an option on the Fitbit's I owned, however, on this watch It was extremely difficult to use and would avoid it at all cost. when its locked, you would push the side button, then put in a 4 digit number (i think)....which would then take you to your home screen. It wouldn't allow me to swipe side to side..only swipe down, then it would go into lock mode again. So frustrating and I couldn't figure out how to undo it that I did a factory reset. Yes. That's how bad it was!! -More options on bevel colors -Band color/sizes -Steps are off (when I wake up in the mornings it shows 4 steps and I haven't even got out of bed) -Watch faces show available when their not. This is also very frustrating and needs to be cleaned up!! But overall if your looking for a semi basic watch, with a big screen, I think you're going to like this one.

Absolutley love it!
I didn't want a super complicated smart watch that needed a phone plan. This is great, because it has all the features I want, isn't super complex to figure out, pairs to my phone with no issues, and it makes my life much easier! Plus the battery lasts for a week, or more.

I replaced a Fitbit Versa 2
I'm so happy with this Bip Unity. Sure it doesn't have GPS but I love the looks of this as well as how it feels on my wrist. I replaced the silicone band with a 22mm stainless steel mesh band. It doesn't do everything I needed however, but there may be software upgrades in the future. It doesn't track HRV but it tracks SPO2. It tracks steps accurately, it doesn't track arm movement as steps if I'm sitting still and waving my arms around. The screen looks amazing. I love that it tracks my deskcycle (indoor cycling) and it tracks it even if I do only 5 minutes at a time. I've tried other fitness trackers that won't record exercise unless you do it for a minimum of 30 minutes. Battery life is excellent, but I don't use this for phone calls/texts.

Está padrísimo. Yo lo regresé para cambiarlo por un Bit porque este (Unity) no contesta llamadas. Pero si no es lo que buscan, se los recomiendo mucho. Está padrísimo y sirve súper bien.
