Comprehensively tested and designed to the latest UL standard for safety and reliability, the 5-inch combination smoke & CO alarm is powered by a 10-year built-in lithium battery, so you never have to change a battery for the life of the detector (not a battery performance claim). In addition, it’s self-testing and easy to install with the included twist-and-click mounting bracket. This Kidde combination alarm is equipped with end-of-life notifications that will beep to remind you it’s time to replace it at the of its 10-year lifespan. Review: Way too many false alarms! - Most of them are now in the garbage. All have had false alarms over the last two years and usually in the middle of the night. Sometimes they won’t go off, which leads me to stomping on it as seen in the pic. Sometimes you can get the back label off to undo the battery, but not at 3:30am. Very disappointed, thought kidde was the top brand.

It only took a minute to put up. I love the fact that the battery does not have to be replaced and hopefully will last 10 years as promised.
