Was having trouble getting my car phone charger/holder to work using the factory usb ports. I had power but not enough to get the charger to actually charge my phone. These data blockers actually bypass the data lines of the port, which rob your accessories of extra power needed to charge and allow the port to pass its full voltage. The charge now works as it should. The vehicle .. a 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2. If you’re having the same problem, try these, they work!

Samsung S21 series phones only charge at 25 watts maximum despite using higher wattage chargers.With my phone set on standard charge rate (15 watts) and set to 80% max charge to retain battery longevity per Samsung recommendation, I used Samsung's standard charger with its USB-A to USB-C cable.I plugged the USB-C cable end into the data-blocker device and inserted it into my phone jack. My phone then displayed a message to check my charge cable (or something like that), then showed my current 53% battery level and a time of "2 hrs,13 min" to reach 80%. I waited a minute to see if the estimated time would actually change, which did. Extremely slow charge rate just as the listing description stated it would if not using a USB C-to-C cable.To test for a faster charge rate, I swapped my charge components for those with only USB-C connections and reinstalled the data-blocker device into my phone jack. Sure enough, phone now displays "30 min" to reach 80% (starting at 53%).[Update, 3/17/25]Tried using the USB-C ports in a rental car, using the same Samsung phone and charging cable as mentioned previously, with a 47% battery status. The displayed charging time showed "2 hrs, 34 min", yet displaying only "38 min" when plugging into a Samsung USB-C, 25 watt power adapter just minutes later in my home. I even experimented with flipping and rotating the cable / connector insertions, including the data-blocker, and experienced no changes in displayed charge times.Bottom line: The data-blocker device CAN facilitate quick charging as claimed, as long as all USB-C components are up to task.Disclaimer: I did not try plugging directly into the rental car's USB-C connector without the data-blocker device for obvious reasons, so I don't know what charging times would be displayed for comparison purposes vs my power adapter.

The adapter does block all digital signals. That means it blocks the handshake for USB-C PD so when this is plugged in my iPhone 15Pro, it defaults to 5v 2.1amps for charging regardless of what charger is capable of. For a "charging only cable" this is super disappointing. I only use it on public USB ports when I have the time for a slow charge.

Stopping data theft is very important for travel. These are built well and very cost effective. Color is agreeable and connectivity to devices is simple and easy. I found no problems with charging speed.

This should have worked for my Samsung Galaxy S22, as was listed, but it did not. All I got was a message stating that I need to check the charging cables. I tried both pieces, different outlets, different sides, different charging cables, but nothing worked. Bummer because I was at the airport. But, it worked for my husband's cheap phone, a Nord N200, which I don't believe was listed. So, half stars.

These work great! I have a situation where I have to charge my iPhone 16 but don't want my phone communicating with the system.I bought these and the problem was immediately solved.
