Excellent Quality
Very happy with these. I have sprouted and then fermented them. Also combined with buckwheat whole groats. I use the fermented oats for porridge, oat cakes, sowens & swats, to make oat pudding, stir-fried dishes, soups, flat bread and still enjoying more experiments. They are tasty. My experience with sprouting them has been excellent. When my kitchen was a bit cold because the temps outside were zero to minus 30, they were a bit slow but still worked. Once the temp rose to zero and above so that my heating maintained 65-70 in the kitchen they are quick to have evidence of germinating in 12-24 hours and produce rootlets in 2-3 days total. My batch has been near 100% viability. Also nicely cleaned, very minimal extra particulate matter. The cat likewise enjoys her oat grass I grow in the east windowsill in some short glass tumblers. Again quick response in 4-6 days to make a thick bunch of grass. It does not reach its height potential only because she trims them daily. They keep on growing back. Looks likes they are well adapted for our Montana conditions. I compared them with full-hull oats. My batch of the later was markedly slower and less viable for germinating/sprouting/grassing. Both types fermented well. However it is much more work to use the hulled ones. I do not have a mill or separator. I think for small kitchens one may have to stone grind and then separate via a gravity method. In contrast. These are infinitely easier. Finally I have a solid, sustainable, high-benefit whole grain alternative to re-provoking my wheat-induced rashes over and over again. I feel satiated much better with oats and so very happy for the relief from chronic itching, scratching, burning cycles. I will expect to purchase more. These have provided a life changer I am motivated to continue and cultivate.

Great Tasting Oat Groats
I was a little reluctant when I received the bag because the oat groat looked different from other’s (none sprouting) that I had ordered in the past. But I really like the flavor. They are great. Would absolutely buy again

Excellent quality oat groats
These are gluten-free oat groats. They take a long time to cook, so don’t expect to have them ready in five minutes but they are worth the wait.

Lots of hulls, but good hot cereal and good for cat grass
Nice texture, and so far seems reliably gluten free. I cook it in the rice cooker on the brown rice setting. The only issue is that the bag includes lots of hulls. I need to spit out at least one in every bite. Incidentally, it sprouts really well, so I'm using it for cat grass, too).

Excellent Quality, Versatile Grain
These are excellent quality gluten free oat groats. I like to cook a cup to start each week, and refrigerate it. During the week, I use some for hearty salads, I substitute for rice in dinner dishes, and I reheat a portion with oat beverage and raisins for a quick breakfast. I enjoy their mild nutty flavor. The cooked oats are perfect for pulling together healthier veggie burger mixtures. They provide a nice bite, and patties aren't crumbly. Unlike oatmeal or bread crumbs they contribute good texture. Unlike rice, they don't cook up too crunchy.

Really Great Product
I recently bought this product. These are not hulled. I cooked them for about 35 minutes or longer and I have sprouted them. Either way the taste and quality is there. I have bought other company organic oat groats but the quality was poor and most are hulled. Hulling requires steam and/ or heat with affects the nutritional value of the groats and they can't be sprouted. Although Prairie Oat Groats are not certified organic, they are grown with "purity protocols" which means it certified gluten free and no sprays are used once the seed germinates and begins to have some length. There is a soil topping which is used to help prevent bugs from climbing and eating the early shoots. Grown in Montana, I highly recommend this product. I also use this as a side dish instead of rice, potato or pasta because of its high nutrition and fiber. Just add some grass fed butter ( if you want) and some salt and pepper and other spices, and you'll never go back to rice. For breakfast add some milk, berries, walnuts, and a bit of brown sugar if you like.

Whole Oats for Breakfast
Great taste and texture. Even better than steel cut oats, if that’s possible.

Good Oats, Small plastic package
The oats are great. I cannot get GF groats locally even though I live in a major metro area. There are just two problems: 1) The package is SO small it doesn't last a week. 2) The packaging is made of plastic.
