Go ahead and spend the extra money, because, in this case, you get what you pay for: You get the best quality hamburger smasher that money can buy, and it will last a lifetime! Feels great, and works even greater!

Room for improvement
I deducted two stars for the following reasons. (1) On a griddle with a lid the handle sits to high to close the griddle lid. As most of us know, griddles are pretty much worthless and impossible to bring to temperature with the slightest wind. Requiring us to griddle in a shelter, buy/ hang metal wind curtains around the griddle parameter or keep the lid closed, sad but true, griddle manufactures you've not thought this through, build a better mouse trap and corner the market. (2) The smasher is to narrow, when pressing a burger the smasher leaves two wings of meat, ie, thick hamburger sticking up in the air requiring a manipulation of the smasher to press them down. A easy fix, manufacture the smasher with a set of wings, ie, a 6" round section in the middle of the smasher, problem solved! The smasher is heavy and built to last, but they all are as should be, so no kudos there!

best meat press ever..!!!
I own a small burger joint and use this press to flatten and sear all my burgers. Approx 400 daily. Press is 100% business, does its job and does it well. Would strongly recommend to anyone that wants to make smash burgers.
