Quiet
Overall I really like this AC. It's reasonably quiet considering it's a few feet from my head when in use in my camper. I can carry on a conversation easily even on high fan, however low fan is a lot better. It cools my truck camper well. The vent setup is great. The louvers have a large swing range such that the outlet facing away from the main living area can be pointed down and a little backwards, directing air into the living space a little. Or when I need it for the upper bed then point it straight out as normal. Installation was easy enough but not without some issues. First the manual is downright stupid. It tells you to make a wood box under the external mounting flange. ??? I had to call the company to learn that this instruction is for non-flat RV roofs. In that case you need to make a custom solution to make it a flat mounting surface. The manual doesn't mention that at all. The second issue is the sealing method they recommend of one bead of caulk under the mount seems insufficient. The exterior flange frame is only held down to the roof in the 4 corners so it relies on the stiffness of the plastic frame to seal against a non-perfect RV roof along each side. I drilled two holes in each side and used ss screws to force the bracket evenly against butyl tape, then used self-leveling caulk around the outside like is normally done for vents. The current rating they give is worst case. They say 14A max, I measured startup at 13A but my meter is probably too slow to see the real peak so 14 is believable. One bad thing is it turns on the condenser fan before the compressor, adding an unnecessary 1A load to the peak. It should turn on a few seconds after the compressor. The run current is about 7.5A on high. The cabin fan is trivial, changing by less than 0.5A from low to high. I ran the AC on a little inverter generator rated at 1800W run and 2500W peak (Champion). It handled the load fine but start up is too much to run in the quieter eco mode so I had to turn it off and the generator ran at high RPM even when the compressor was off. Bummer. That's more a characteristic of the gen than the AC, maybe the popular red gen is better. The manual also doesn't point out that the features explained for the remote are only supported by some models, for example heat. The info is there but not obvious at first.

Pickup camper air conditioner
Installed on my pickup camper. Perfect! Was limited to a 16 amp service and this fit the bill. light weight, cools camper fast and quietly. Works with my Westinghouse 2200W generator with no need for additional soft start hardware.

Great unit
Quiet operation and easy installation. For me, the only thing I do t like a lot is that when on, the fan is always on, it doesn’t shut off when temperature is at the setting. But still, it is pretty quiet

DON'T BOTHER!
I bought this and had it professionally installed in April, 2024. I've probably used it a total of 15 times on occasions, the heat maybe 5 times total. Now, the heat pump only works when it wants to. If it doesn't work, it tries to start, then it sounds like someone dropped a brick on the roof & it shuts down. I guess this week, I'll find out how the warranty is supposed to work! Not happy about it at all.

Great Truck Camper AC
Very nice quality AC which is built well, sturdy, and ease of installation was great. Follow directions and make sure you have a rough opening of 14 3/16 x 14 3/16”. The top roof flange will go in a 14” x 14” opening, but the bottom interior flange needs 14 3/16. Save yourself the frustration of trying to fudge it in and cut the dang hole per directions. Helpful hint: use butyl tape on the roof to seal the flange to the roof, then use Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Cement around the perimeter of the flange for added insurance. Unit is quiet, and runs great. Honda EU2200i powers this without much of a hiccup due to the “soft start” feature. Very pleased, and looking forward to using it in the PNW once the cold, wind and rain of Global Warming is done this spring.

Works great
Very quiet compared to my Coleman pop campers stock unit. Was pretty easy to install on my van. I really like how the vent are adjustable to blow out and all the way to up and down position. The slim version look pretty sharp on top of my van.

It does what it's supposed to do
Installation went ok being i was by myself. She has a bit of gravity so getting it on the roof was very interesting to say thr least. Very easy install. Now I ordered the 2800 with the heat pump. I have used everyday, the entire summer into Nov (2025). Had a relay issue that controlled the fan on the condenser. I called RecPro and the sent me a new control board. I installed and she was back up and running. No issues since then....and gotta say, RecPro came through with no questions, spoke to an actual operator that sounded to me were based here in the US. That to me is 5 stars. Again, I run the unit 24/7 and in the past month have used the heat pump. Works great and one of my best buys for 2025. Ok, I can't close without whining a bit....the interior fan stays on when it's not conditioning the air and it's not soft start or shut off. It could be because metal roof but even when the comp shuts off, I get a "thunk"...ok, so all in all good unit...been running 24/7 for months maintaining 73f....good buy!

Absolute Trash.
We've had 9 RVs and this is by far the worst AC unit we've ever had. I could write all day about the many infuriating things about this unit but the bottom line is do yourself a favor and buy a different brand. All of the selling points they tell you on here are not true and even if they were, the good wouldn't outweigh the bad.
