I was a little reluctant to buy this jar because I felt it was a little pricey. After receiving it, I must say it's worth the cost. It's beautifully well made and it matching my furniture. The body of the jar is see through, so you will have to decide if that's okay for your usage. I like it and I recommend it.

Good Quality

I wouldn't call this a bowl. It looks like something the Three Kings would bear frankincense or myrrh in. It's an elegant shape and looks like it's carved out of wood, although it's made of resin. There is space between the carvings, so you could fill this with something bright colored or contrasting and it would show. We bought it because we have a room decorated in Shakespeariana, and this brought to mind Portia's caskets. It's a little expensive but it does make a nice knick-knack.

I made this purchase in part because of all the positive reviews. I must agree. It is beautiful! Last week I received it and found one was not enough. It looked so good in 2 places in my house ( entry hall table and bedroom dresser) I ordered a 2nd. It is sturdy and both arrived very well packed and in perfect condition. I would love to locate the coordinating candlesticks several people mentioned.
