YCS Basics 3 Pack D-Sub Pin Insertion and Extraction Tools

I got these tools, did what I needed with one tool. The reason I got three is I bought one from another vendor before and it was broken in shipping, didn't notice it, then a couple of months later I found it was no good. These have a tendency to break, so its good to have more than one..

I needed these to remove the pins from a connector I needed.The product arrived quickly and was packaged well. The price was good and the tools worked as expected to remove and insert the pins .For the few times I might need it, this was perfect.

It works perfectly for D-Shell connectors, I tried to use it for Molex connectors and that did not go so well. But it really isn't perfect for that, a pin insertion extraction tool is not perfect for all connectors. Oh well, live and learn.

good value for the money but these items did not work out of the box. I could not pull pins with them. Then I examined the tool more and noticed the extractor tube was bent. I straightened the tube out with a pin nail and then tried the tool and it then worked like a charm. Maybe they were crushed a little bit in shipping. Who knows. But after straightening it out, it works ok now.

First two pics are of the best of the 3 in this package, second two are the superior AICONICS M81969/1-02 which easily fits over both 22 and 20 AWG wire and effortlessly releases the pins/sockets. Do yourself a favor and search for it. Costs more, but worth it!Even after reading the other poor reviews I thought maybe I knew better. Many (most?) users don't know how to properly use this tool so I thought maybe I'd be lucky or smart. I was wrong... The extraction/white end is the one you really need. As others said, they are poorly formed and distorted right out of the package. They are sized too small to fit over a mil-spec wire or pin without flaring making it difficult to get into the back of the connector shell. If you fiddle enough and git it in, it catches internally and won't release the pin/socket. Trying to get it over a 20 AWG wire gouges the insulation. Don't waste your time.Note, Amazon sometimes displays the pictures out of order, and has replaced one of the "good" tool with a duplicate. The tool that flares out is this janky one.

Worked perfectly on electronic components at work. Just be easy it will bend it missed used.

These work, but it seems the number of times they can be used is limited. They are very flimsy and broke easily.
