Meguiar's G18016 Clear Coat Safe Rubbing Compound - 16 Oz Bottle

New truck! About a week after I got it, it was “dive bombed” by a flock of birds. I washed off when I got home, but there was one spot on the door I missed. I didn’t wash it off until the next weekend. Well… apparently bird droppings can mess up clear coat paint. So it left a blemish on the door. I was likely the only person who could see it, but it bugged me. Ne truck, you know? I tried buffing, cleaning, and it was still there. I bought this stuff and a tiny drop, and some very light buffing cleared it right up. Blemish gone! Awesome. Works great.

used this with hand rags to buff out some light oxidation from hood. Works well. Used just a little bit of clean water at the end to do the final buff ....then let dry and with new clean rag remove any dried product. Then followed with a good hard car wax. Worked as advertised. will not work to remove heavy oxidation or loss of clear coat and paint damage. set expectations accordingly.

I used it on a medium scratch on my door as directed. It seems to have somewhat buffed and hidden the scratch a bit. I was hoping for a little more but I think it would actually work great on lighter scratches and it did actually seem to help my scratch while being safe on my clearcoat. If you want to get rid of very light scratches I think this will work great and if you have some deeper ones, I feel it should at least improve how bad they look. I honestly didn't expect much from this so was at least a little impressed that it helped. It went from a noticeable white line scratch to more of a scratch that blends in with the color of the paint.

I used this with their foam applicator pads(link below). Shake the bottle then just apply to the pad, and scrub back and forth against the the scratched area for a good 10 seconds really fast. Scrub longer for the older scratches. Then clean with a cotton fiber towel or with another unused pad. If scratches are too deep, it’ll just be less noticeable. It also works with cleaning your headlights. forgot to take before pics for the headlights so not posting any pics for that. If you notice in the after pic, it also got a bit shinier after the rubbing compound. This Meguiar's G18016 Clear Coat was an amazing rubbing compound and really left a shine. My black truck has beaten-up by the weather, especially the hot desert sun and sand storms. I used a little elbow grease and Meguiar's took the fade and dullness of my paint and made it glossy again. The only weakness is the rubbing compound settling in the microscopic cracks and pits left by sand storms which is obvious on my black paint, but that happens with any rubbing compound from what I understand. The shine still makes it worth it. My truck is pretty again!
