AC shadows is great, full of detail and depth.
Assassin's creed shadows is a brilliant game. It's exactly what I was hoping for with the setting being Japan but more aswell, the thing I really like about shadows is that you have alot of tasks and quests to follow and lots of markers on the map but you can use the standard mode which requires you to discover the locations and quests and you can use your scouts that you recruit into your settlement which is the new and best feature I've seen so far. The settlement is where you can build a settlement for your league. Now the best thing about this game is Naoe has shinobi skills and abilities so she's best at utilising stealth and climbing and acrobatic techniques of a shinobi, whereas yosuke has samurai skills and is geared towards combat more then sneaking which adds a choice for players who like either or both fighting styles. Naoe is personally my favorite because she will do lots of different animations when climbing or clambering off objects and buildings which is really cool. Also the fact that they both have weapons that are geared towards their individual abilities. For example yosuke has a longsword, tepo and arrow and Naoe has katana, kusarigama and throwing knives for ranged combat among other weapons. They also both have skills you can unlock like levelling similar to what you see in Rpgs. You can see ubisoft have put quite a bit of effort into the game and have researched alot of Japanese culture and history aswell. I learned that the Portuguese had gone to Japan in 1500's which I never knew about and only discovered after playing AC shadows. I also researched it to see if it was all true and even Yasuke is real. It's crazy how much detail is In the scenery and graphics aswell. Facial animations are not bad and the people look really good. I find myself sometimes just standing on a mountain or a high up area and checking the scenery and thinking, wow. Ubisoft has done an incredible job of this game just like they did with Valhalla and I found I enjoyed both games immensly. I would definitly recommend AC Shadows. 100%.

Return to form Assassin's Creed.
The setting makes this game interesting straight out of the gates. With great scenery, cultural differences handled sympatheticly and a proper engine for this generation. This is a much better creed game than Valhalla. With the promise of future DLC it will be interesting to see if it tops Odyssey. The adventure is packed full of quests and there seems more variety this time around. The little animation touches and differences when you are playing either one of the two main characters is beautiful. I've had a lot of pleasure out of building up my hideout. This brings the joy of the AC Unity base enhancement back. Valhalla never really hit the mark for me with it's attempt. It's collection of weapons and armour are good and gives player choice but they sometimes feel a jumble. Once you find you look and fight style the rest quickly become trash or mon (in game currency). Talking of in game currency, there seems to be a confusion of helix points, mon and resources all admittedly serving different purposes but it gets a bit messy. It's a rock solid game with beautiful visuals and the variety to match. Can't wait to see what the DLCs bring.

My opinions
Haven't finished the game yet but here's my opinion so far: ðĒ Beautiful game. Environments are stunning, and the season changes are very pretty. ðĒ I like being able to swap between characters from the menu so easily ðĒ Weapon customising is very nice, I appreciate being able to change each individual piece - however my katana keeps resetting for no reason? Hopefully that will be fixed. ðĒ Combat is pretty good, no enemies waiting patiently for their turn to attack you. ðĒ More involved dialogue - I can choose to be friendly or mean in a lot of conversations - this is a nice option to have ðĒ Once you've been spotted, enemies will look for you for aaaages. This is great for realism as there doesn't seem to be any "must've been the wind". From my experience they will stay alert and keep an eye out for you. I messed up an assassination and hid on a roof and they felt relentless in searching for me. ðĒ I enjoy the parkour routes dotted around with loot at the end. ðĒ Naoe's grapple is useful and fun to use. Much better than the OP one we had in AC Syndicate. ðĒ Can auto follow NPCs ðĒ When starting NG+ you can choose to skip the intro sections, and you can keep your hideout as it was. ð Can earn points and redeem them for items from the shop (random items rotate on a weekly and daily basis) ðĄ Customisable home base is great - however the framerate TANKS here - why!? I haven't even really added any decor to cause this. It was <30fps here before I customised anything! {*Frame rate was fixed in a later patch} ðĄ No auto ride to destination on horseback {*This was added in a later patch} ðĄ I'm already getting bored of the typical Ubisoft open world scattered areas/collectibles to complete - I'm trying to fully reveal a new area when the story takes me that way. ðĄ Season changes for me happen too often. I've almost completed a full 2nd cycle and I don't feel like I've played that long. It usually plays a cutscene on fast travel, to show progression through the season. You can change the season manually in the menu to advance it to the next stage. I wish you could use this to pick a season to change to. ðĄ Some quests require or suggest you to complete them at night, but there's no way of quickly passing time. Twice now I've just left the game running and sat on my sofa scrolling Facebook for ages waiting for night. I really wish there was a button to pass the time. {*This was added in a layer patch, it's unlocked with a hideout building upgrade} ðĄ I changed the skin on all my buildings in my hideout to the Sakura one from the store after unlocking it. Almost every time I return to the hideout it's all reverted back to default, but the game thinks it's still on Sakura! I have to constantly edit every single individual building, change the walls to a different type then back to the Sakura skin... ðĄ I am finding it difficult to earn money. I don't get much from selling trinkets, and I had completed the game. I have started NG+ to earn again through missions. ðī No torch in this game. Those Kofuns are dark! I can't see anything! Especially with HDR on... I'm navigating parts of them in eagle vision to try and see better... Even just wondering around at night I've found it frustrating that I can't see. ðī The orange markers for Yasuke to learn a "kata" are so boring. QTE that has no rhythm or reason to it. Just press the buttons for... Reasons? Feels like I achieved nothing completing these. Naoe's version of these are rhythmic and less boring. ðī The music that plays during larger fights or boss battles feels out of place to me personally. It doesn't fit. It's too modern sounding. ðī Requirement to kill X amount of samurai daisho at every singles castle is so frustrating. I will be running around in circles in eagle vision for ages trying to find all of them. It's not even like we're collecting keys to unlock the main chest. We just have to kill all of them for it to unlock for... Reasons? The more you do the worse it feels. I haven't finished all the castles because i don't want to do them. The more recently added Corrupted Castles are just more of the same, and again, I don't wanna do them. ðī I don't enjoy the Animus glitches. I personally find them boring. ðī The more recently added Isu door that's unlockable by finding glyphs is frustrating. I found a map on Google for the locations to get them done. I don't really enjoy these kind of hot or cold style search features. I also personally wasn't too impressed with the stuff inside. *Update: I have now finished the main story. I've edited the points I made to reflect some updates, and added further points when I found something worth mentioning. Overall, the games pretty good. Beautiful environment, and the story is alright. But the collectibles and mini games leave a lot to be desired, as is typical with Ubi games. ðŽ I played the game in immersive mode with characters speaking in their native language, with English subtitles.
