Love!
We move this! Not only is it a great security lock for a sliding door, it is also a child proof lock when placed at the top of the frame. You can also install it at the bottom and use your foot to release the lock. It looks great and is easy to install within minutes. Much better alternative to those big bars that leave scuff marks on the frame. You can also still have it locked but leave the door cracked like a vent lock they make for windows. It has great design and we highly recommend!

The answer to my worn out patio door lock
This worked great on my sliding door. The old lock had worn through the door jam slot so that it would not lock. I would have had to change out the entire door jam to correct the problem, but his lock did the trick. It was very easy to install with a drill and the enclosed screws. Now the door is secured better than it was with the original lock.

Secure slider lock.
Love this door lock, it was suggested by my son as a good and easy solution for extra patio door security. It is easy to use just by pushing with your toe or tapping the top to lock. It screw's into the bottom runner so it very secure. I would recommend it to anyone looking for the extra security.

Worked great for us. Lost 1 star for missing screws.
TL;DR Review: Works great, super sturdy, less tan 3" gap when in second position. Ours didn't come with screws so I bought my own. (see pics if this heppened to you too) overall very happy with the product. Full Review: We bought this because our almost 2 year old has figured out the lock on the door. Installed it in the top of the door so it was out of his reach. We were very careful and slowly drilled holes prior to avoid potentially damaging the door or shattering the glass I'd seen in other reviews. We also positioned theocking piece on the edge of the door so it's further away from the glass panel. Overall it works great, my husband was tugging on the door after install and it wasn't budging. This product lost a star for quality control. Our product came with no screws, so I bought my own because I didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it and waiting for a new one. I also posted a picture of the screws we used in case this happens to anyone else.

Very Pleased, Installation Isn't That Hard, Read Below for Tips
So after reading the reviews of other people shattering their sliding glass doors while installing this lock, my husband and I took to referring to it as the "scary lock." Phrases such as "did you order the scary lock?" and "when is the scary lock arriving?" were pretty common in our household. Anyways... I watched a ton of installation videos on youtube before trying ours and here's my list of tips. 1. When you attach the lock to the actual door, make sure you put the lock as close to the non-glasss edge of the door as possible to ensure the screws don't go through and hit your glass. Look at your door from all angles and if you have even a suspicion that you're going to hit the glass, DONT DO IT. Pick a different lock. 2. When attaching the lock receiver to the doorframe, keep in mind that the screws provided are pretty long and may screw your door shut if you're not careful. This leaves you with a few options. First, if you are installing at the lock/receiver to the top of the door, you may be able to put the screws in the clearance space that the installers used to get the door into the track. This has two benefits, not only will it allow the door to slide without hitting the screws but it will make it close to impossible to lift the door out of the track, thus increasing security. Second, if you're installing the lock/receiver at the bottom of the door and the screws are too long to avoid screwing your door shut, they can easily be replaced for less than 50 cents with shorter screws. 3. Before you begin drilling any holes, mark where you need to drill with a pen and once again make sure you're not going to hit glass. 4. Before you put the screws in, use a drill bit to create a small guidance hole. This will not only make the screw installation easier but will also allow you to go incredibly slowly and make sure, once again, that you're not going to hit the glass. We did all of the above and the installation still only took about 10 minutes. We're definitely going to be getting some similar locks for our downstairs windows too.

Works well but bulky
Quality and functionality are fine. However, on your typical sliding door there aren't many good places to mount it and the parts themselves are bulky and can interfere with closing and opening blinds etc.

Feel safer and it does as it promises!
This lock was super easy to install with some simple tools (I did need a drill to make some holes before I installed it but it almost seemed like I didn't). Was hesitant because of some comments where they had shattered the glass door, but I am so happy that it didn't happen. I think it all has to do with placement. Know your door first, where does the crystal ends, and then start from there. The screws are small but moderate size, to not be locked after placing them make sure you don't press them in too much or buy a smaller set as the doors may be stuck if you do so and won't be able to open them. Not so many instructions with it, but super easy to figure it out. Simple mechanism but I feel safer now that it is installed. It is in a high traffic area from our home and it has lasted since we bought it, looks very well made. For doors like mine, I had to flip over the bottom part in order to fit the door rail but it works really great! It looks as it came with the door as it compliments my door color. Great purchase! Recommended.

Cheap product
Product is poor quality and feels cheap. Doesn't fit either door that I tried it on. Seller even took refund back after I returned the item.

Versatile Lock
This lock is the only one I could find that would secure my screen door. I need to leave the main door open for the dog and needed to secure the screen door with the doggy door in it, this was just perfect.

Great patio door lock
I have a pool and kids so this lock is well worth it for me. I can open the door a few inches and still lock it, kids can’t reach it at the top and I definitely sleep better knowing it works. Worth buying

Worked okay
Worked on my very old sliding patio door. And surprisingly convenient in use. Supplied screws were short one screw and another screw had no screw socket. Fortunately, I had better to hand anyway - so no problem in my case.
