I LOVE these books so much, I have my copies from when I was little, but I wanted an extra set for a kid that's still learning to be gentle with books. Having the original copy and these new ones to compare, the first thing I noticed was that the picture / print quality is much worse now - the images are MUCH darker and grainy. The books are also smaller than before but I don't mind that so much, I just wish the image quality was better. I think I'll see if I can thrift some older ones, but for now I'm so very happy that these are even available at all to buy.

My 6yo is about to graduate Kindergarten, and I got this set to inspire him to read during summer break. He's been very hesitant to actually read books on his own, and always wants a parent to read to him. It didnt take much to convince him to read Dragon TO US and HE READ THE WHOLE BOOK IN ONE GO outloud!! I couldn't believe it. We've got a reader!!! God bless Dav Pilkey.
