- Knob can be temperature scale calibrated and is unlocked with a small Phillips screwdriver

A: No it must be wired in

**Q: Is this for heating and cooling?**
A: yes

**Q: can this be a Double pole thermostat for 240 volt?**
A: This unit will handle 240V, but it is only a single pole. The circuit can turn on/off either heating or cooling equipment, or anything else for that matter. So with 240V, only a single hot wire can connect as the input.
