Solid kid’s smartwatch that’s affordable with reliable calling and GPS — 5 stars I bought the TickTalk5 for my 10‑year‑old in 5th grade, so she can stay in touch while riding the late bus with much older kids, including all the way up thru high school. Call quality is clear even out in the boondocks of southeastern York County, PA, and GPS updates are accurate within a few minutes. The parental app is straightforward to set up and use. What I liked • Real phone functionality: It works like a true cell phone with its own number, not a limited device. • Service value: We use the base prepaid plan ($9.99) — unlimited texts, plenty of call minutes, and a small data allotment. • Reliable coverage: Calls and location tracking have been dependable in rural areas where other kid‑watch brands struggle. What could be better • Battery life: Expect about 24–36 hours with moderate use, so plan on nightly charging. Bottom line If you want simple, dependable watch with calling and location features without giving your child a full smartphone, this is an excellent, affordable choice. We bought this watch for our daughter as her first “phone” and overall we are very happy with it. Setup was not hard and the parent app is easy to understand. I like that everything is controlled by parents and there is no internet or social media. The watch can make calls, send messages, share location, and also has camera and video call. For us main use is location tracking and quick calls like “come home” or “where are you”. It does the job well. Big plus for me is carrier flexibility. I am not locked into private monthly plans, as I am using a low cost MVNO SIM and pay around way less than subscriptions per month. If price goes up later I can switch carrier or even stop service anytime. This flexibility was big reason I chose TickTalk. Battery lasts around 2–3 days for us with normal use. Watch feels solid and kid friendly. There are some games and camera but no internet browser or apps, so not too distracting. One con is GPS location is not always very precise. Sometimes it shows nearby area or street, not exact spot. But it still gives a good general idea where the kid is, which is enough for our use. Overall very good balance of safety, control and cost. Happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Did some research and decided to go with TickTalk5. We like that it has sms, you can control who is able to contact the watches. They're easy for little kids to use, preset messages, talk to text. Calls are good. Wifi, lots of config settings to manage in the app, location seems accurate. Battery life goes quick. Realistically have to charge daily. Quality is good so far, they are built for kids, screen is recessed, rather rugged. Waterproof sticker over the SIM port. All in all a solid watch we are happy with the choice

Bought this for my kid and honestly it does exactly what I needed. Setup was easy, GPS works well, and I can always reach my child. That’s the main thing for me. Battery lasts about a day, which is fine. No major issues so far. Definitely worth it if you want a simple way to stay connected with your kid.

I bought this to keep track of our 8 yr old son. He's super active and doesn't stay in one place too long—always zipping around the neighborhood. We don't have to wonder where he is anymore as long as he has his TickTalk watch. The watch performs as good or better than expected. Video calls, gps location, regular calls, text and more. Parent controls are great too. Very happy with our TickTalk watch.

The device worked reasonably well for most of the time we have had it and my kid loves it ! Haven’t run into any issues with the communication either talking or texting . Quality of calls is also good. The app is nice and very intuitive as well . On a downside , the watch did start to loose battery life in last couple of months and make charging requirement every 12 hours . Recently the watch completely died ( because of water damage as later found). But the company has great support . They were quick to help out by sending pre paid envelope and Offering to replace the watch since it’s in warranty period. Overall a nice product!

This watch has a good battery life and good quality speaker and camera (definitely enough for my 8 yr old). I enjoy the parent app and like how much protection I’m able to have on the watch. It is easy to use. Issues: I recommend getting a battery door screen to keep it from popping off. Additionally, ensure that no water gets on it at ALL. I’ve had to ship it back twice now.

My son loves this watch. Great investment and he's loving being able to call his family as well as take photos and get picture messages

We bought this for our child as he was leaving to summer school. From the very first day, the battery only lasted 6 hours. Later it lasted less and less , charging very little during the whole night and after 20 days it shut off completely and never went back on. As our child was away from day one using the watch , we weren’t able to return the item … 200 euros straight in the bin. Zero recommendable
