Optrex 10 ml Moisturising Eye Drops: Contact Lens Safe, Relieves Irritation, Soothes Inflammation, Hydrates, Provides Comfort for Dry and Sensitive Eyes

​I was previously prescribed a different brand of eye drops for dry eyes, but once I had to start paying for my prescriptions out of pocket, I looked for a more budget-friendly alternative and found this 10ml bottle of Optrex. ​ When comparing the two, this was an absolute no-brainer. Not only is the price significantly cheaper, but the concentration of the active ingredient is actually stronger than my previous brand, and you get a very decent amount of product. ​ The instructions on the bottle advise using 2 drops per eye (unlike my old brand which was just 1 drop), despite this being a stronger solution. When I initially tried doing 2 drops, I found the formula to be very thick and slightly oily, which is actually fantastic for severe dry eye relief. However, because it is so thick, the second drop would just slide straight out of my eye and run down my face unless I sat and waited a couple of minutes between drops. ​Because of this, I adapted my routine. I am perfectly happy doing just 1 drop per eye, 3 to 4 times a day. It works brilliantly for me and makes the bottle last even longer. ​ The first week was a bit of an adjustment period; my left eye in particular felt extra dry and "stingy" as it got used to the new formula. But once that phase passed, the results have been amazing. My eyes feel incredibly lubricated and comfortable, and as a massive bonus, the tension headaches I used to get from eye strain are 10 times better. ​ A superior formula, better price, and fantastic long-term relief. I won't be going back to my old brand.

Nice moisturising eye drops. Very soothing for dry eyes. Easy to use.

Suffering with dry eyes i need drops daily. These drops were a great price so tried them. The instant relief i felt was amazing and eyes felt fresh all day. Getting the drops in was a bit difficult as I had to squeeze bottle to get the drops out where other drops fall when bottle is upturned. However they work that well and last so they are worth it.

Easy to use. It helps alleviate any difficulties I have with my eyes watering, which is I presume dry eyes. It certainly does what it says. The price was good as was the delivery.

I use these eye drops when I have my contact lenses in because I get very dry eyes. It is very hydrating and soothing if your eyes get dry whilst wearing contact lenses. It is compact and small so I take it everywhere with me.

Works as intended and provides much relief.

Is fine, but need like twice a day doesn't last too long.

Handy for sore eyes.
