Once assembled it feels like it is strong enough to hold up. The designer kept the plastic thick for sturdiness while narrowing down at the end for the shoehorn function. I love the use of non-slip plastic on most of the straight area and the hook area. This aids greatly in preventing the cloth from slipping off the dressing stick. After two days of using the dressing stick, I ordered a second stick to keep downstairs to help in getting outer wear on and off.
