Watch the hardner, the label says at 75F use 78-82 DROPS of hardner per 4oz of gelcoat, do NOT transpose that into 320 drops per 16oz or you will have a 16oz white hammer head, and with thinner it will go to about 200F and actually boil - no bueno. Get a 5ML measuring glass tube and measure hardner carefully, check out Totalboat website too. MORE!!! On my 17'6" Whaler I used too little of this; I would say use 8-10 qts [depending on what you want and what you are covering] for this size boat. Reasoning; You must put coating ON to take coating OFF, to smooth, sand down using 1000 grit or 1200 grit to get that mirror finish. If there's too thin a coating, you'll be taking it ALL OFF [like a girl named Susan that I used to know] and never get it as smooth-mirror-like. Review: Waxed gelcoat as the final coat *Sunfish sailboat - Great product, very easy to apply to the hull as a final coat. This gelcoat is much easier to work with around 70-80*.
