Good quality syphon
I found this item to be very good quality. The height adjustment is very useful. I have a slim, high cistern and I could adjust it to fit perfectly. Like all syphons of this style, it has an internal overflow. Just get the height adjustment right. 1 thing I would say, the inlet is a tight 38mm. I have 40mm pipes from B&Q and they do not fit. Had to use a reducer to plumb it it. Can't blame the product. It is clear in the description. I thought it might fit anyway. Surely poppies are a standard size? Er, no.

Well built and easy to fit
Had to change the internal flush system of one of our toilets. Had done it a few times before so knew what I needed. The syphon has a plastic film piece inside and its usually that that fails. Took the old one out and there was a tear in the film as I suspected which was why the flush wasn't as powerful. This is really well built and adjustable so can make it taller if needed to give the support to the lid of the unit. Can do it without any tools but having a pair of adjustable grips to tighten final plastic nuts is ideal. Works like a dream. Don't rush it and take a few pics on your phone before you take the old one out to double check if you've never done it before. And check the size of the old one as they all do vary in terms of the footprint (how much space they take up inside the cistern).

Fiddly to fit, but worth it!
Fiddly to fit, but worth it! (No harder, I suspect than any other toilet syphon, but if it's not something you have done before - as was my case - it isn't a five minute job - took me a couple of hours)... that said, having waited and waited (and waited) for the plumber to turn up and put me out of my misery, it was more than a little satisfying to realise that it was a job I could do myself, after all. I bought the 'Coupling Toilet Bolt & Gasket Kit Fitting Cistern' as recommended by Amazon - I could have actually made do with the old one, but would still recommend you add this to the basket because if you get that far into dismantling your toilet, only to discover you need a replacement, things could get messy! The instructions provided with the kit are reasonably easy to follow - once you get your head around 'what part is what' (you will need to make various adjustments depending upon whether your toilet is a 6L/7L/9L flush etc) before you fit it. Initially, having put the toilet back together, I realised that it was leaking between the 'coupled unit'... having checked my work, I couldn't figure out why. I then watched a video on You-Tube and discovered that this kit doesn't provide enough washers - in addition to needing a washer between the syphon and cistern (which is provided), you should also fit one the other side (where the cistern meets the base - before fitting the coupling bolt)... the easiest solution is to 'borrow' the washer off the old syphon that you are replacing. I duly did this and all has been fine since. Overall, I am very pleased. I would prefer a 'stronger flush' and suspect this is to do with the initial settings that you must make prior to installation. (My toilet is a 6L flush and so I made the necessary amendments. I suspect that it might work better if I had set it to e.g. 9L - thus allowing more water into the syphon as it flushes, but I don't have the energy/ bravado/inclination to test this theory). It works, and that's all that really matters to me (but it does require more than one flush to get rid of toilet paper).

Superb quality product
Super replacement. Old flush was noisy and hard to flush, this takes so little effort, and the dual flush means you save a little water. You just hold the toilet handle down and it does a half flush. Easy to install plus if you're unsure there's hundreds of videos online to follow. Just be aware you do need to remove the cistern to install this product.

Easy to fit and it works.
One the toilet cistern had been dismantled the syphon was easy to fit, and it works well. It will also be easy to replace the valve when required.

after watching handyman on youtube -i thought i may as well have a go to change the syphon that had given up in my toilet .i tried all the local shops to get this syphon -but none had it .so i ordered this one -and although it is more expensive than the shop ones -it is much better quality .it did take me a while to plod through and do it --but i managed in the end -and am over the moon to know when it goes again i do not have to undo all the gubbins -just whip out the membrane and change it .the order came when it said it would -so all in all -i am a happy older lady .

Extend life
The initial instalation was perfectly straight forward and all seemed well. Over a period of time the dual flush feature has failed and seams not to be able to fix / repare. something to do with an odd size large black rubber wisher that should be a few pence to replace if I could find a supplier. It apears like most modern things, designed to wear out over someting tiny and replace the whole item. Update, 2 years on, I have worked out a fix to restore the dual flush. two images attached edited extracts from on of Dudleys manuals with notes added. 1. isolate water supply and flush emply cistern 2. Carfully remove the syphon part of the machanisum 3. Carfully dismantle the diaphragm. 4.Clean the two washers, 1 plastic and 1 rubber and dry. 5. Three or four small drops of contact adhesive on the e flat side of the plastic washer and bring the two washers together, leave to cure as adhesive instructions. 6. Reassemble with replacement diaphragm if required and refit unit. 7. Turn on water and test. Our installation now works agin like new. One star knocked off for poor design in the first place.

Universal replacement for standard flush syphons. Wide range of settings and adjustments.
Universal replacement for standard syphons. We replaced one that no longer flushed fully, and this item fitted pefectly. Adjustable height allows for deeper cisterns. And it has removable plugs if you want to reduce the volume of water used each time. One point to note: for a half-flush you pull and hold the handle. For a full flush, pull and release. Reverse of some other syphons, and there's an adhesive label to stick to the cistern, to remind users.
