Still can’t believe we have to buy an adapter for headphones, but this does the job fine. I bought the dongle to use with some IEMs, to replace my AirPods and they sound great running through it. I suppose the price could be higher since it’s Apple, so I can’t complain. Worth buying if you don’t want to use AirPods.

I recently purchased a new iPad to compose music. Because it has no headphone socket and wireless headphones cause a lag when processing sound, I had to use wired headphones. Therefore I needed a USB-C to 3.5 mm headphone adapter. I purchased a cheap adapter that caused unlistenable heavy distortion because the iPad was overloading the chip that converts the digital signal. The Apple adapter at only £1 more is designed to handle the iPad’s power management. It’s worth every penny.

Have had it for a number of months and it has not broken on me, seems to be durable despite the reputation some Apple products get for durability, not the cheapest on the market but also of better quality than some I have seen, the wire is soft compared to being rigid which makes it a lot more convenient especially when having the phone in the pocket. Does not seem to affect sound quality at all when in use.

Je viens de recevoir cet adaptateur Apple USB-C vers mini-jack 3,5 mm et j’en suis très satisfait. Il permet de connecter facilement un casque, des écouteurs ou des enceintes équipés d’une prise jack 3,5 mm à un appareil USB-C. Il est compatible notamment avec les iPhone 15, 16 et 17, ainsi qu’avec de nombreux modèles d’iPad et de Mac. L’adaptateur est petit, léger et très pratique à transporter. La qualité audio est bonne et, contrairement au Bluetooth, il n’y a pas besoin de batterie ni de recharge, et la connexion est immédiate, sans latence. J’apprécie particulièrement sa simplicité : on branche et ça fonctionne. Un accessoire très utile pour continuer à utiliser ses anciens casques et appareils audio en jack 3,5 mm avec les nouveaux appareils USB-C. Un produit Apple simple, fiable et efficace. Je le recommande vivement ! Très bon rapport qualité-prix.

Nach dem Wechsel auf ein USB-C-Gerät war mein liebster kabelgebundener Kopfhörer erst mal nutzlos - kein 3,5-mm-Anschluss mehr, wie mittlerweile ja bei so vielen Geräten. Dieser kleine Adapter von Apple hat das Problem in Sekunden gelöst. Stecken, fertig. Kein Treiber, keine App, kein Pairing. Der Adapter wird sofort erkannt, die Audioqualität ist sauber ohne hörbare Verluste oder Störgeräusche. Lautstärkeregelung und Mikrofon am Headset funktionieren weiterhin problemlos. Das Kabel ist angenehm flexibel und fühlt sich nicht billig an - typisch Apple eben, auch bei so einem schlichten Zubehörteil. Für 8 Euro hätte ich eigentlich keine Beschwerden. Wer günstigere No-Name-Alternativen probiert hat und dabei auf schlechte Tonqualität oder Kompatibilitätsprobleme gestoßen ist, wird den Preisunterschied schnell als gut investiert betrachten. Einzige Einschränkung: Wer gleichzeitig laden und Kopfhörer nutzen will, braucht etwas anderes - das kann dieser Adapter nicht.
