I've had a set for a couple years and the center looks great but the fringe looks dirty. I'm afraid to wash by hand even.** A: It says hand washable on the back. The material appears to be synthetic so I would use laundry soap and lay flat to dry. If that doesn't work, I would use a nonbleach home cleaning product such at Dawn dish detergent or Spic and Span. Good luck. **Q: Will a stemmed glass sit flat on this?** A: Yes. It is not thick and is very smooth/even yet absorbent. I recommend this product. **Q: does it hold the condensation the bottom of glass? will the coaster stick to glass when picked up?** A: These coasters do not stick to the bottom of your glass. I think the moister must be just absorbed into the top fabric. The rubbery underside prevents any moister from contact with table. **Q: What is the top fabric made out of? Is it wool like a tiny wool rug?** A: The fringe is cotton, and on top the fabric is quite thin and applied over the fringe material. I don’t know, it could be wool, it's soft, but it washes well and these coasters are the best! I wash mine from time to time and they always come out looking like new. The bottom in rubbery material.
