Surface Slim Pen 2 & Pro Keyboard for Pro 11, 9, and 8 – Sapphire

I am a true Microsoft zealot.. and I am not apologetic about it when it comes to my PCs. I PARTICULARLY love the Surface format. It’s compact, tidy & lightweight, leverages all the MSFT businesses applications I spent a career utilizing -and which I still use for supporting my non profit efforts (maximizing my time & contributions.) Functionally it fits in my purse when I want to carry it with me, offers a suite of options on power/ speed/ storage depending on what you need, and has a satisfying responsiveness and feel of the keys when typing. I’ve actually had 5 or 6 of them over time (and just bought a new one -I’m so excited!) I am UNBELIEVABLY pleased with the CLEVERNESS of the new keyboard; not only does it have current fashion colors and the familiar touch pad if you need it ( tho’ I’m a “touch screen” kind of gal), you now have a choice of getting an electronic pen with it (used to buy them separately) …. BUT MAJOR IMPROVEMENT is a feature of the current magnetic hinge mechanism on the keyboard that’s the current standout. The keyboard attaches with INCREDIBLE ease to the tablet & offers solid protection for the face of the screen - it’s the AMAZING electronic PEN STORAGE that “knocks this keyboard right outta the park”! Who ever designed the present pen storage was a GENIUS! The original storage was a loop you slipped your electronic pen into (…. and which from which the pen would slip out of - I lost 2 and gave up using that method of storage, keeping one in my purse. Inconvenient, but at least I wasn’t replacing price pens.) NOW, there is this wonderful magnetic storage slot WITHIN THE HINGE ATTACHMENT that cradles your electronic pen, keeping it out of sight in the fold of the attachment area between the tablet and keyboard, YET EASILY accessible with a QUICK tug of the keyboard which unfolds the hinge showing the hidden compartment of the electronic pen - you’ll NEVER lose your pen again!! It’s right at hand EXACTLY when you need it, but stored safely out of sight when not in use (See photo comparing new keyboard to older keyboard hinge area.). STELLAR! The Surface w keyboard has been a life long love affair for me - the new keyboard attachment mechanism with electronic pen storage continues to “seal the deal”!

Do not buy 3rd party. This product is superior to off brand keyboards for surface. Good quiet keyboard and the pen is fine to use on paint and one note

The keyboard and pen work great with my new Surface Pro. And there was no crazy setup or configuration to worry about.

Bought this to pair with my Surface Pro 11 Elite (purchased the tablet and this keyboard in January 2026), works exactly as one would want, this isn't the bluetooth version which is far more expensive, but it functions flawlessly so far, so I'd recommend it as a good addition to the Surface and if you don't need the bluetooth version, this OEM product is the way to go. The pen is also great, works as expected. It's slightly more expensive than some of the other off-brand accessories, but it seems to work flawlessly so far, so I'd say spend the extra money to get a quality device. Super thin and light and folds neatly over the screen of the Surface tablet. It's not ideal for longer typing sessions but it will work especially when on the go. The pen stays securely in place magnetically and charges as it should, so that's a cool feature and no hidden surprises or failures on that. It's pricey but if you are using this for a business purpose it makes sense to go for it instead of rolling the dice on a no-name knock off to save a few dollars which might not be as good.

It works great i really like it, but itbis expensize, and this is the second one i have had to buy, my first keyboard only lasted 2 years. I love the pen, it works perfect.

I purchased my Surface Pro 8 Tablet-PC, Keyboard, and Slim Pen bundle in November 2021. I participate in the Windows Insider program, which allows users to preview early, unreleased builds of the Windows operating system, and I have not experienced any problems. My five-year old Surface Pro 8, keyboard, and pen still function perfectly, just as they did when new. However, the keyboard has worn out, even though it still functions perfectly. The Alcantara is peeling, and the ABS plastic keys, which are coated with paint and laser-etched to allow the backlight to illuminate the key functions, are so badly worn and chipped that the keys have lost their identifying marks and the backlight glares through. Five years is a reasonable lifespan to expect the keyboard to remain aesthetically intact. The choice was between buying a new Surface Pro or replacing the keyboard. I was concerned by negative reviews claiming the keyboards were in poor condition and had performance issues; however, there were many favorable reviews as well. Perhaps the negative reviews were about some other seller or 'used' items. Since my computer functions perfectly, I decided to replace the keyboard, especially because Amazon was offering a 45% discount. Although I didn't need a new pen, I thought "why not," the price was so attractive. My keyboard and pen bundle arrived exactly as advertised: Safe and intact. The new items were sealed in the original Microsoft product box, which was securely enclosed within an Amazon shipping box. Setup was easy. The keyboard connected effortlessly and the pen was already fully charged. Both the keyboard and pen operate flawlessly, just like the originals. They are made by Microsoft and original new up-to-date manufacture. I have no doubt that they will last at least as long as their predecessors. We'll worth the price even if without such a wonderful price considering the alternative of purchasing new pc.

I got the "like new" option that was apparently an open box. The keyboard was great, but the pen had clearly been crushed and has a crack down one side. So much for "like new".

These are Microsoft designed. It matches the Copilot by button. You will enjoy it because why, It has the pen too. Smile TD
