Would this work in a portable ac unit?

Yes, I have used it in mine. I watched a video on how to remove the outer casing to expose the condenser. I hoovered out any dust trapped in the condenser fins. I then sprayed a liberal amount of foam over all of the aluminium fins and left it for about 30mins, until it had all disappeared. I then reassembled the outer casing. It now smells fresh when switched on, and no longer has the damp musty smell it had before.
