This was a gift for our 12 year old son who kept requesting a "combat comb" like his friend had. We did not have high expectations for it based on price so were beyond thrilled when it arrived and was so much higher quality than we could have ever imagined! It's not some light weight cheap comb. This is very well made with good metal and is quite sturdy. BEWARE, it does very much resemble a real pocket knife so be cognizant of that if planning to carry it/use it in public. The green marbled handle is beautiful and unique. The opening mechanism works with a simple push of a button, operating smoothly and quickly. This comb gets a LOT of daily use because our son is super sensory and loves to comb his hair/use it to scratch his scalp multiple times a day. He also frequently jokes around with his friends/sister, using it as a toy in their pretend play, and has accidentally/carelessly dropped it countless times. Despite rough and constant use, the comb remains secure once pushed back into the handle and there's not a scratch on it. The comb tines are a blunt and a bit thicker which is not ideal for true detailed combing but does make it easy to clean with a simple wipe down or even a more thorough washing with dish soap and scrub brush.

Man, this thing is really, really nice. I bought it for a friend's kid who specifically asked for a switchblade comb for his birthday. When I went looking, I was expecting that I would only find the same carnival prize plastic crap I had in the 80s. I came across this one and it looked to be decent, and the price was good. I didn't really expect it to be as nice as it is. It's solid, heavy, and feels well constructed. The spring feels strong, and it opens with a confident snap. The safety works to keep it shut in your pocket. I can't comment on how long it will last, but it seems like it's very well made. I've seen some complaints about the metal tines on the comb being sharp or grabby. I have no hair on my head, but I ran it through my longish beard a couple of times and it felt fine. The kid I gave it to and his dad both ran it through their (fairly well pomaded) hair and seemed adequately pleased with it. I'm sure it's not the greatest comb available, but that's not really the point, is it? Anyway, the look on the face of the 11 year old who got this was sufficient to justify the $10 it cost. Recommended, if you're in the market for such silliness.

Honestly it’s a great product. Very sturdy and easy to use. My only issue is that the teeth on the comb could be smoothed or rounded a bit. I have thick hair and it likes to tug and pull. Other than that it’s great.

This is one of the most shockingly high quality purchases I’ve made. It’s heavy, portable, it flicks out really well, it’s not super soft or comfortable but the craftsmanship is impressive.

Bought this for my brother. It broke after a few months. Good for a short term costume but not for frequent use.

Size is a little bigger than I was expecting but thats fine. It's truly better than one of the cheap plastics ones you'll find in a gag shop being ACTUALLY almost completely made of metal. The design is good too meeting expectations of that classic switchblade look. The mechanism is also very well made so far and I hope it holds up over prolonged use (but honestly for ~$15 the quality you get is well worth it so buying another would be fine).

This thing is actually built quite nicely. Has a nice snap just like the real thing.

Had it for a few months now. Spring loaded part is broken. Doesn't flick out anymore. The comb was ok. I have longer hair, it's ok if your hair is already combed but it really hurts when you don't comb with another brush of something first. It wasn't really worth the money since it broke and I can't return it. The lock is also broken on it. Thought this was a good one bc of the reviews I saw at the time.

It is a beautiful design, but I personally find it impractical. It is quite heavy on the hand and you push a button to release the comb which can be quite abrupt. I bought as a styling tool in my handbag to substitute a black plastic foldable comb that I already have. The teeth of this comb are metal and quite sharp. They can be quite abrasive if used directly on the hair scalp and it is best suited for long hair/ beards.

Exactly as described. Works well, my teenage son wanted it. Probably better as a beard comb but he loves the novelty of it.
