I was hopeful it would help as we have struggled with algae in the Texas heat. This has surpassed my expectation. The water is clear and clean for the past month with minimal chlorine - 1 regular chlorine tab a week for our 6,000 gallons. The Orange/white plastic ball sits in the skimmer, so easy to use. I did follow the directions and ran the sand filter on recirculate for awhile first, and then have been filtering/backwashing/rinsing as normal. Time will tell how long it lasts but based on others reviews it should last the season. I think it is worth what I paid for it, around $50. I would have already bought that much chlorine for shock based on last year. I will try to update at the end of the season with thoughts. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pool Rx gained a new customer. *by A***R on June 16, 2025* I have an 18x48 Coleman above ground pool with an Intex salt and sand pump. Added five 40 lb bags of salt and the orange Pool Rx in the skimmer for the pump. Pool has been up for two weeks with rainstorms and showers almost daily. Pool water is still clear as the day I filled it. Routine maintenance to remove bugs and leaves as well as vacuuming with an Intex vacuum. During the past few years, our pool has turned cloudy and/or green within a few weeks of setting up the pool due to a magnolia tree nearby and rain showers or storms May through July.
