This was the most difficult thing to try and figure out. This book was the easiest way to figure out the difference between { Masculine, Feminine & Neutral } inflections. It’s still a lot to digest, but at least it gives you a good starting point. 👍👍👍👍👍

Bought this book as a Christmas present to myself after completing my first semester of German and realizing that there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the gender of German articles (certainly not as simple as Spanish articles!) The author has done every student of German a tremendous service by identifying these rules and presenting them in a fun and memorable format! Turns out that the ending of the word is the most reliable key to determining the gender. (There are just more kinds of endings than in Spanish!) If you are a student of German or are already familiar with it - but articles still mystify you - this book is a must-have in your toolbox!

I found this book fun and entertaining as a way to identify German articles. The simple explanation of the rules was great. I would recommend this book to all German students.

As a beginning student of German, I’m very glad I bought this book. I really like the simple and logical way it’s laid out. Although the rules are based on the most frequently used 2,200 nouns, I would have preferred a 4,000 to 5,000 word base. This book is a huge asset to any German student.

If learning German it is a must have book. It gives you a lot of examples and helps you in understanding how to use der, die, and das correctly.

This is the best most comprehensive review of German articles I have seen. I have been studying german for a few years, but articles can difficult to remember. All I ever heard was "there are no hard fast rules" but it turns out there are SOME, and that is better than being told "just guess and remember". It's a fun, it's whitty, and I like that there is a little character that follows you throughout the book. I recommend 100 percent.

I like the hints for telling which one to use when it seems more logical by the ending to make it this versus that. Take me awhile to totally absorb it. Great book!!!!!!

DER, DIE or DAS… how do you decide? I’ve been studying German for a couple of months and this book is the only one I’ve come across that offers genuinely useful advice on this thorny subject. It manages to be informative and amusing at the same time. Lots of visual cues as well as standard ‘rules’ to help you get your head around those pesky articles. I wouldn’t be without it now, even though my tiny memory banks continue to reach critical mass on a regular basis! Good luck 👋🏼
