5 Pack 304 Stainless Steel Adjustable Swivel Handrail Bracket for Staircase , Square Stair Railing Bracket

I just installed these with a brand new handrail. They work great. I wish the holes were aligned differently. I prefer to have both screws in a solid stud. So I had to install them sideways in order to get the holes lined up on my studs. But they seem pretty sturdy and there was plenty of room for adjustment.

These handrail brackets are a bit smaller than I expected. The material is good but is not as strong as I expected. They are lightweight and the installation is straightforward. However, they are not direct replacements of my existing brackets. I would have to receive the distance/gap between the handrail and the wall because the bracket’s arm is shorter than the ones I have. For that reason I didn’t replace my existing brackets. But I would save them for a future project or put them on a yard sale.

I felt we had to install a handrail for our stairwell. Except my husband because of the weird opening going into our upstairs believes we are opening a can of worms......to tell a little more there, imagine a 4'x8' piece of blueboard insulation......well the opening to the upstairs is just smaller than that by a couple inches each side, so in the winter we do use that piece of insulation to block heat rising to the upstairs which is basically storage anyway, not to mention there is a big window exactly at the top end of the stairwell as you come up), so in order to mount a handrail, it would be against the wall in the lower portion, below the ceiling opening, but nowhere to hook it up above unless we put it on the other side, but then it would block the ability to step into the floor landing at the top of the stairs....oh yeah did I mention the the top step is upstairs floor level and literally has about an extra 12" forward and then there is a wall, so basically, instead of using the top step, we turn and step right onto the floor landing.....so yeah no space. My husband says to put these into our box of goodies for our new home which we are planning now. I did notice others complained about scratches. I did not notice any scratches on mine. I think these are well built and will even allow a little variance on your installation. However my home situation, doesn't even have the ability to allow for that much variation. Honestly when time for us to sell, this house may be a tear down as it is a 1920's kit house and many things aren't fixable without spending a huge amount of money. We aren't willing to do that when we are already planning a smaller retirement home on our 2nd property. We will be glad to use these brackets in that new home!!

The brackets are good. The swivel angle movement allows for some margin of error in measurement for placement of the wall bracket holes. However, the swivel has too much lateral movement with no ability to tighten.

We had been looking for a long time for a solution to hang an old gong on the wall. These hooks fit the bill. See attached pictures/video. The bottom pair required modification, basically removing the hinge part. That is when I found evidence how strong they are built. The hooks are rated 304 Stainless Stell, so I started off with a new hacksaw blade. It still took some 200 strokes to make each cut. This kind of strength gives me confidence that these hooks will easily support a railing with a person leaning and tugging on it. Two criticisms, not affecting my overall rating: - The style description was confusing. What is the difference between modern and contemporary? They're both Matte Black. I eventually picked one, and still don't know if the other style would have been an even better match. It would be nice to have a description of each finish, perhaps with a picture of a side by side comparison. - Packaging in fives is odd (literally!). The leftover unit is now useless, unless there was an economical way to pair it up. For example, I have a nearby railing where I would consider replacing its two hooks, but it's clearly not worth the $70 (current price of the 5-pack).

Been in need of a set of railing mounts for a newly remodeled stairway and timing was perfect when this set showed up in a search SO I chose them due to their description. Stairways pretty long with railing to b approx 14ft in length so a 5 pack would just handle the coverage spaced nearly every 2ft and the end result couldn't b better. These brackets extend out 2 1/4" which works out fine if your railings under a 2" width. The rise is approx 2 1/2" from center and the railings swivel brackets r an inch in width which will accept anything wider. Since I'll b custom making the railing - chose a 1 1/2" width n' a lil over 14' in length. The swivels will do as intended - make for a perfect finish if anythings slightly off. The brackets themselves r of an A1 excellent quality in workmanship - being of stainless with a well applied matte finish and hex-keyed hardware assuring many years of trouble-free service. Very satisfied with this choice - thou the choice doesn't come cheap and more towards the high end for a nothing fancy in appearance product - BUT that appearance along with the quality and performance does mean everything AND the value was definitely found in all aspects of this product.

They would be nice but the ones I got were scratched into the metal, not just the paint. The box was fine so unless they were put into a new box they were not damaged in transit. The top tilts which will be really useful when I go to put up the new handrail and they are sturdy enough to hold up under normal use. But now I am going to sand the metal and spray paint them to make them look as good as I can. This is disappointing, I wanted to get this done this weekend. I don’t recommend these. Update Edit The company reached out to me and asked if I would like a replacement box of these for my stairway. One of them in the new box had scratches on it too. The customer service person that I communicated with was really nice and helpful. They replaced the bad box very promptly! Great customer service, that is hard to find these days! I still gave it 4 stars because like I mentioned the new box has one scratched in it.

Great quality! Used for my basement stair railing. Would purchase again any day of the week. Will likely purchase more for other railings in my house.
