Yes this will remove the smell but you will have to soak the spill with about twice the amount of odour eater than milk spilt. This didn't work for me, although to be fair, it's not designed for that. This smells very strong of lemons. The smell is strong at first, but then it starts to fade. I ended up using Ariel bio washing powder in hot water (as hot as your hand can handle). Pulled up the carpet and cut away the smelly underlay. Replace with similar from an auction website. Saturate the carpet on both sides with a strong mix of Ariel and hot water. Scrub in on both sides until absolutely soaked; leave for 5 mins, remove as much as possible from both sides with towels or a wet vac (vax etc). Leave to dry for a few days (don't re-lay the carpet), then repeat if it still smells.
