What is tenzi?

DJ answered this question perfectly on December 29th.  I bought Amazon's bag of 10 dice, each set a different color and 77 Ways to Play Tenzi cards.  Much cheaper and the cards gives 77 more combinations to roll.  There are even blank cards that allow you to create your own TENZI.  This game is very fast and very noisy.

Where can you get a set of rules for this game?

The way we play, the first person to get all the dice showing the same number wins.  (i.e.: all two's, all fours).  I Googled "what are the rules for Tenzi" and got  this from ilovetenzi.comRulesOBJECT:Be the first player to get all ten of your dice to show the same number.HOW TO PLAY:(2-4 players.) Each player chooses a set of dice. Players hold all ten dicein their hands. Someone says "Go" and everyone rolls at the same time.Quickly look at your roll and decide which number you are going to gofor. (For example, if you have more 3's than any other number, that'swhat you want to go for.) Put all your dice with that number aside,collect the remaining dice and quickly roll again. (You do not have towait for others to roll again. Everyone rolls together only on the firstroll.) Keep rolling until all ten of your dice show the same number.WINNING:The first player to get all ten of their dice to match (ten 3's, for example)shouts out "TENZI" and wins the game!Hope this helps!

How big is the box/package? (dimensions) i'm going backpacking and i wanted to bring some fun games to play along the way. too big or heavy?

Does this include standard tenzi rules too? or just the variations? trying to decide if i need to buy 1 regular tenzi set and additional dice?

This doesn't include the standard rules but they are so simple, they almost don't need to be written down.  The fun thing about Tenzi is that there are so many ways to play it and you can make up your own game very easily.  You will need dice and there needs to be 10 of each color that you use.  You need 1 set of 10 for each person playing.  The regular set is a good way to start.  It has 4 sets of 10.  If you want to play with a huge group, there are bags of 100 dice in 10 sets of 10 for sale on Amazon as well as a party pack Tenzi of 6 sets.
