I’ve tried nearly all the popular razor makes and wanted to give Mühle a try. This “beginner’s” razor is basically an R89 with a different handle and a much lower price to attract new shavers. It has a long, heavy handle with a unique silicon grip bearing the Mühle in a choice of 3 colors: black, blue, or green. There is a slight blade overhang. As for aggression, if this were an adjustable razor, I’d rate it a 3 or 4, which seems to be the “sweet spot” for most shavers, and certainly a good place for new shavers. It comes with one blade. It is a great razor for anyone. You’re guaranteed an effective, comfortable shave.

Husband loves this razor - nice grip on the handle, comfortable handle length and so much cheaper to use and get a nice, close shave with decent quality traditional razor blades than the alternatives.

Solid built razor. Quick & easy to change blades. Handle has some heft to it, well machined. Shaves well with good blade. Built in Germany!

This is a well made razor. The chrome finish on the head is very nice. The handle is well made. I have no issues with the design and manufacture of this quality razor. I couldn't use it and returned it because, for all of its beauty and quality craftmanship -- it's a bit too short for my big hand. I didn't put a blade in it. I didn't try it. I don't think it was usable for me. Although I'm sure that I can find a longer handle for it (and keep the quality shave head), it probably makes more sense for me to wait until I can afford a Muhle razor with a longer handle. For someone with a more 'standard' sized hand, this would probably be great.

For the price, I haven't found a better safety razor! I've been able to get some of the best shaves of my life out of the Muhle Neo with nearly any combination of blade and cream. Moreover, the blades are easy to replace and the weighted handle is easy to grip and adjust throughout my shaving routine.

10 years ago I started off with the $20 Feather butterfly safety razor. It's a great razor to start off with because it's not aggressive. Then a few years ago I switched to a different butterfly razor which was more aggressive, I had good luck with it but the mechanics weren't as smooth as it was when new. In fact the older Feather razor still works as when it was new. I really love the new razor, great shave with the enclosed blade. The razor is very well balanced and easy to grip. For me the handle length is perfect. I currently use Proraso soap with an Omega synthetic brush. I'll still continue to use the Feather Platinum blades, I have 5 unopened packages. Highly recommended Mike Update: Finally changed out the enclosed blade after 3 weeks. It gave an excellent shave. Switched over to my Feather Platinum blades. Still a great shave.

Got this to replace my 10 year old Merkur 34C on which after years of near daily use, it was starting to loose its chrome. So, decided to give this a try. In a lot of ways, it reminds me of the 34C in that it is a well balanced (as in weight) medium aggressive razor that takes on the qualities of whatever blade you drop into it. Just starting out? Use a Derby or some equally beginer friendly blade. Skipped a day? Load it with a Kai or Feather. The biggest thing for me to get used to was that I am used to a 2 piece razor and this is a 3 piece razor. Other than that, nothing to get used to. The angle is very intuitive, the rubber grip gives good control, and it frankly just looks good on the razor and brush stand I have. As for the price, a 34C will set you back 44 dollars and this is a little over half that (I paid 29 for it) and seems to be of the same quality and gives shaves just as consistently good. Another pro of this is that because it is a 3 piece, you can easily swap the head out for a different one and Mühle makes several different heads all of which should fit this. It also means if the head breaks you can easily replace it. Just some food for thought. Use a good cream or soap like you would any other razor like this and if you don't know what your favorite blade is, get a sample pack.

First safety razor. Bought extra blades. I think I only knicked myself once over the past week. That is a lot better than I expected for a new technique. Only suggestion/complaint - Buy a stand. The end is rounded so it will not stand in its own.

I've used double edged razors for more than 50 years and this is one of the best I've owned. It shaves smoothly when used at the right angle and the weight and balance is just about right. The silicone handle ensures a positive grip. I normally use the closed comb head but I've also got an open comb if I need a more aggressive shave. I don't think you can go wrong with one of these.

Ich habe mich mit der Anschaffung eines Rasierhobels sehr schwer getan - Schnittgefahr, umständliche Handhabung ...! Mit diesem Hobel alles Quatsch, denn dieses Gerät ist richtig toll - sagt man das heute noch? Gut, dann ist es eben nice, stylish, perfect, steil oder ganz Old-School: ein richtig guter Rasierer. Das Ding ist prima (= geil, =nice, =top und natürlich auch stylish) verarbeitet und macht eine perfekte Rasur, auch nach der zweiten Anwendung ohne Schnittwunden! Ich bin wirklich verwundert, wie gründlich eine Nass-Rasur sein kann. Bisher hatte ich Vier-Klingen-Rasierer von NETTO (kostet auch 3,99€, also nicht lachen) in Gebrauch, jetzt nicht mehr.

Excellent razor, nicely balanced. I've been using an Edwin Jagger prior to this and the difference in shave is amazing - it's a closer shave, and bizarrely I've yet to have a single nick as well. Really impressed with this razor.

I started wet shaving 5 years ago. First with a pearl 2 piece razor. Then came the BSC razor with 2 plates. Then came a Parker with a SS handle. Each was an upgrade to the previous. I bought the Neo since its the R89 head and its cheaper, heavier and longer. This is such a huge upgrade. It is smooth and it is mild. I don't really need to think too much about avoiding cuts. And so I can go much faster. And I can do 3 passes in lesser time than I did 2 passes with the Parker. Add a sharper blade (Gillete black or Feather) and it's a closer shave as well. I suggest people should buy this directly without going thru the roundabout journey that I took. The design and the product is made in germany. That itself is a quality seal right there.
