Works great and doesn’t look Orange. It does have a sunless tanner smell but it’s not awful. Nice dark brown color. Fades well, looks natural.

I’ve tried a lot of self tanners over the years, and I usually buy the more expensive brands. The two that have worked best for me are MineTan Dark Ash and Bali Body Deep Violet Self Tanning Mousse. They’re both 6.7 oz, but MineTan is about $6 cheaper, and honestly I think it performs just as well. My skin tone can be tricky. I’m Seminole, so I get pretty dark in the summer, but my Irish undertones show up in the winter and I can get pretty pale. Anything with orange tones looks really unnatural on me. The Dark Ash color is one of the few self tanners I’ve found that actually looks neutral and natural instead of orange. Another big reason I like this one is the dry time. I absolutely hate the sticky feeling most self tanners leave behind. Usually you have to walk around awkwardly for hours waiting for it to soak in, and I can’t stand that feeling on my skin. With this one, it absorbed really quickly. I applied it right after exfoliating in the shower and was able to get dressed pretty soon after without feeling sticky or worrying about it getting all over my clothes. As someone with some sensory issues, that alone is a huge plus for me. I left it on for about 6 hours before showering and woke up with a nice deep color. One tip: I used a brush on my hands, but next time I’d probably rinse them after about 30 minutes because they developed a little darker than I usually like. I also noticed very little smell and hardly any transfer on the clothes I wore out to dinner that night. Overall, if you’re trying to avoid that orange self-tanner look and want something that dries quickly and doesn’t feel sticky, this has been a great option. The fact that it’s a little cheaper than the Bali Body one I normally buy is just a nice bonus.

I got the caramel foam and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is very easy to apply using a foam glove and a back paddle applicator makes it easier too. It feels like you’re just applying a water color paint to your skin. It blends very evenly and dries very fast. I prefer to apply at night and then shower in the morning, but honestly if you need a last minute tan you can apply and have instant tan. If you need a fast tan you may rinse just with Luke warm water in shower after one hour. (do not use soap) However, if you shower after application the night before then using soap is fine after that length of time. I’ve also found applying lotion after your Mine tan has soaked in (after your shower rinse off) to be fine too. A little bit goes a long way! There is no need to go pay for a spray tan, because you can DIY with Mine tan and save a lot of money. The scent is mild, which is another plus to Mine tan. Mine tan goes on fast, and coverage seems to last a solid three days or so if you are just too busy to do another application for a few days! Over the years I’ve tried many different self tanners and Mine tan is my absolute favorite. I personally recommend CARAMEL! For me the caramel was the easiest to apply and the most natural coverage. This is a fast way to get your tan on, and you’ll love your natural looking tan!

I’ve read reviews about this product looking green and yes, it does have a greenish tint when first applied to a tanning mitt. The greenish tint means it’s not going to be orange. It will counteract any red, pink, orange tint you have on your skin. This is a true brownish tan color. I find it goes on smoothly with no streaks. It’s is easy to correct any mistakes you may make while applying. The most important aspect is that it is not orange. It looks real in natural or artificial light. Do not be afraid of the tint straight out of the bottle, again this just means it’s not orange. It wears off well in my opinion, not splotchy however I don’t think there is a self tanner out there that fades like a real tan. I apply quite often. If you don’t rinse it off it will come off a bit on sheets but doesn’t stain at all, easily washes out. I have light-medium skin with pink-red undertones and it’s perfect. I’m not sure how this would be on a very pale person. MineTan violet also diminishes reddish tones but is a lighter shade which could be better. I cannot stress enough to not be afraid of the color that comes straight out of the bottle onto the mitt. You will not have green skin!

My first time self tanning and I got no streaks and application was super simple. Decided to use self tanner after getting uneven lines from vacation. I’m naturally very fair, so my body had pale and tan parts. First try: It didn’t even my tan lines well bc the tan itself wasn’t very dark. I put it on only for 1 hr since I researched that it will develop deeper by 24 hrs, but it looked like nothing. I only saw a difference when I left it for 3-4 hrs; during this second application I actually applied more the 2nd day and left if for another 3-4 hrs and no issues with splotches. Having done it 3 times now, I get the color I like from sleeping in the self tanner (8 hrs). Not sure if my skin takes self tanner well or it’s the tanner but I don’t have to do major upkeep before the application. I used a glove scrub and moisturize the areas where skin creases (ankle, elbows, knees) a day before. The dark ash color was my main reason for choosing this brand. Again, my first self tanner buy, so I can’t compare if it’s more/less orange than other brands. Love my color tho! I did look quite green upon application but it turned out nice. The smell is not bad at all, but I’m not as sensitive to smells as others. It does slightly linger on clothes but a perfume spray quickly fixed that.

it says a cool non-orange tan but ends up with a very dull looking yellowish tan and doesnt go away easily. Useless product!

I love MineTan products for several reasons. I’ve used everything on the market to very high priced self-tanners to drug store ones. All yuck and eventually smells bad. No bad odor, a more natural product (less toxic), tan looks amazingly dark, can use on face / body and it’s sold on Amazon! Same price as the MineTan website. While I like all their self tanners, this one is my fav because it’s dark and leaves a gorgeous bronzed (not orange!) finish. Reference: I have very fair skin. I use this to enhance my light tan from the sun. I have sensitive, rosacea prone skin. This does not affect it at all. In fact I also recommend face tan water by ecotan for face. All natural and never affects my sensitive skin. I never tan my face/neck from the sun. Always use a zinc product on those areas. This self tanner ensures I’m tanned from head to toes. I highly recommend getting the tanning mitt. You don’t want this on your palms. Only Con: it will drain sheets so I don’t recommend sleeping on light coloured sheets until you’ve showered. Directions suggest you can alter colour by showering 1-2 or 3 hours following application. I usually wait till next day before showering. Remember to exfoliate and use sparingly around toes/ankles/elbows. I often forget and my tan always looks good & natural. A GREAT product!

I have olive skin with pink/ red undertones. This self tanner is better than most especially for skin with pink/ reddish undertones. For me personally I left it on for an hour and No more as I could tell it was already developing. Within that hour it gave me more of a light olive color rather than an orange color, this is good for me because I have olive skin with red/ pink undertones. I am trying to keep the sun off my face because of rosacea. so as an olive skinned person that means my face will be much paler than my body, which I don’t like. This tanner develops very fast which is why after only an hour I washed it off because I was worried if I left it on longer it would give an orange color, But I’m Not sure because I didn’t take the chance to find out. This color definitely isn’t “Dark” which is my only concern. My body is darker than my face because I am avoiding my face getting tan at all cost because I am in the process of getting laser treatment for broken capillaries due to Rosace. So I am trying to find a self tanner for cool undertones that actually matches the rest of my skin. So far this is a decent tanner for what I want to use it for. The tan itself last a few days. The smell isn’t very pleasant but I don’t really care about that because when you shower the smell comes off. Over all I do like the product but it’s definitely far too expensive for a simple self tanner. Next time I am going to buy the St. Moriz for cool undertones as it’s cheaper and uses the same color theory. The brand St. Moriz also seems like it looks like better quality. Also the MineTan bottle does leak as well so be careful when you shake it up or try to travel with it.
