Pentel Pulaman MJ20, Black Ink (JM20-AD)

Writes nicely and the blue is nice and dark, can look a bit black as its so dark. No issuse so far and ive used it a few weeks now.

This pen writes really rather remarkably well, at a cost that defies belief, particularly as it includes P&P all the way from Japan (but it arrived in what seemed the blink of an eyelid). I love trying new pens, but this was a real eye-opener. It writes extremely smoothly and easily, and you can achieve almost calligraphic effects with minimal effort. It doesn't leak, drip or splutter, and the ink dries almost instantaneously. I am very happy to sign official documents with it (which is a bigger thing than it might appear at first sight; I have only ever used fountain pens hitherto), and will certainly buy more of these. I can't say how long the ink will last, or how resilient the nib will prove, but at this price, for this truly remarkable writing quality, I have no hesitation at all in giving this 5 stars in terms of its price/quality ratio.

Writing with this pen i was quite disappointed depending on the speed and pressure you write at depends on the pens quality of the outcome slowly cursive yes speed and signing no it tends to give a running out of ink, dried out feeling when speeding up your writing also it looks like double lines as it struggles to release the ink and nib struggles to cope with the pressure

Ink dries out incredibly quickly, nib is too thin to be used constantly. Would be great quality if the nib was thicker.

Schreibt erst etwas kratzig aber mit der Zeit immer besser. Mittlerweile schreibe ich wirklich gerne mit ihm!

I was not sure what to expect with this pen given the new type of tip and that it was described as a brush pen by some. The tip is actually a hard plastic, which retains its shape regardless of pressure or speed of drawing. It takes a little time to get used to the placement of the tip, but this pen draws and writes very smoothly. The tip is a bit scratchy, like a felt tip, but not in a bad way. The line weight can vary slightly based on the angle of the pen to paper, speed and pressure, and the ink can be smudged for values if you wet your finger. Great for sketching, I just wish it was refillable. The barrel is smooth plastic, and not uncomfortable, but also nothing special in terms of grip. I think this type of pen falls somewhere between a gel ballpoint pen and a fine felt tip pen in terms of performance.
