Exactly what I needed to fix the leak coming from the vacuum breaker on my outside water spigot. This one has what appears to be a sturdy aluminum top cap with nylon internal components and washers. I’ll see how it holds up in the harsh NJ winters, but for now I am satisfied as it has stopped the leaking. Size was exactly as described and fit my application perfectly. Your mileage may vary depending on your spigot. You can find various visual demonstrations online.

Epic fail - The product contained the plastic threaded part, and the metal cap but was missing the stopper. I tried it on to see if the threads fit, but when I tried to remove it so I could return it, the metal cap unscrewed from the white plastic threaded part. I had to get a wrench to remove the white threaded part from the faucet, which damaged the threads. If you had to replace the rubber O ring, you might not be able to do so without damaging the breaker threads

Excellent replacement for anti siphon valve on frost free faucets. My faucet I replaced it on is the Woodford Model 17. Easy to screw in and install, completely fixed the leaking from the old valve. Will see how well it holds up over time and provide an update to this review if it ever fails.

This is a simple design and easy to replace. It is a service item I never really knew needed to be replaced. This style is not always easy to find in the hardware store. I was looking for a screw on that is metal rather than plastic. The plastic seemed to deteriorate (I suspect because the UV exposure). The rubber o-rings could be replaced before having to replace the threaded body, and that may be a good option before swapping out the entire piece. But mine was old enough to swap the whole thing. This design seems a bit better than the original one, too, with the internal float more freely able to move up and down over time. Homeowners should be aware of these sorts of things. I, like others, feared I either had to live with the constant drip or be faced with a full and pricey replacement. What a relief to learn more about this serviceable item. I did eventually see some in a local hardware store with wither the plastic screw on dust protector (and that is what the cap really is) or more of a press-on thin metal cap. These would work, but I prefer the more durable screw on cover. Recommended without reservation.

Works great. Tip: apply a little bit of water pressure after starting to thread the valve on. This will keep the plunger centered in the base. You can then turn off the water before finishing the install.

Top of plastic thread where the cap screws on was found to be defective/damaged upon inspection. At times the cap was a bit difficult to start. I really liked the thought of the silver steel cap as it matched the outside spigot. I didn't think the item would hold up for very long in cold weather (sub-zero at times) due to the defect. I ended up with a different item because of the defect in the top thread. I really wanted to like it but I didn't think it would last very long due to the defective thread.
