what is the differnce between "DL" and "CR" 2032 batteries?

A DL battery is a CR2032 that's been manufactured by Duracell. ... The number that follows indicates the diameter and thickness (so CR2032 is 20mm diameter, and 3.2mm thickness). "DL" is the prefix that Duracell uses. The only difference is that a DL cell is Duracell-branded, and a CR cell is made by someone else.

Why do they say medical batteries

Because they can be used in small medical devices as well as other electronic devices. It is mostly marketing.

Will this battery work in most motherboards that accept CR2032 CMOS/BIOS battery?

Just be careful removing the battery. Some mother boards the CMOS battery has a little lip to prevent the easy removal or accidental fall out. I forced a few out {screw driver} on 1 the holder broke and when that happens the mother board might be need to be changed. I had to solder my battery in but it took 3 attempts and might of half the life of the battery.

What is the use by date on these? How many years out? Do not want to purchase old batteries.
