This sourdough starter kit exceeded my expectations! It comes with everything needed to start baking beautiful homemade sourdough bread, and the quality of the supplies is excellent. The banneton proofing basket is sturdy and gives the dough a professional-looking shape, while the sourdough starter jar is convenient and easy to use. I especially appreciated how beginner-friendly the kit is while still being great for experienced bakers. Everything feels durable, well-made, and thoughtfully included. My bread has turned out amazing with a perfect rise and texture. Highly recommend this kit for anyone interested in sourdough baking!

Recently got back into home bread making, so I got this set. It’s been great!! Everything you need is included. I especially love the temperature sticker for the starter jar that goes from black to color based on the room temperature. The feeding band is also fantastic, as it has labels for each day and notches notating the time in three hour increments. The bowl scraper is a bit stiff for my personal preference, but this allows it to double as a bench scraper to cut the dough. The bench scraper that’s included has a handle, making it easy to hold and use. The silicone brush is a bit small, but I love that the whole thing is silicone, rather than a wooden handle. And the long, silicone spatula is a game changer for feedings!! I store all the additional items in the bowl and cover it with the fabric cover (minus the starter jar), so that everything stays together, and I can grab everything when I’m ready to use it. Please note that the shape is for making a boule, not a batard. Lastly, the danish dough whisk— I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without one. I remember using them in culinary school years ago, but never had one for personal use until now. This one is super sturdy and easy to use. The only downside is that it does have a wooden handle. (I personally hand wash all tools with wooden handles and ensure that they’re dried thoroughly, as the spot the wood is attached to the tool is typically a place that harbors bacteria and mold.) I got this for Christmas and I would say i am on my 10th load of sourdough by now. It really does have everything you need to get started which makes baking so much easier. Honestly the basic bread tools are great quality and work well but its the little things in this set that really have made baking much more fun. The little silicon spatula I use constantly - not just stirring starter. Its great at getting little bits off the dough hook, a spreader for icing and pastry cream, and I even use it to scramble some eggs! The silicon brush is so much better than a nylon brush - I egg wash everything now! And I never knew I needed a bench scraper until i got one in this set. This set has not just elevated my bread baking. It has elevated my entire baking repertoire.

this kit comes with everything you need for sourdough! all the products look super high quality as well! i love the jar, the height and width make it super easy to feed your starter. the spatula is awesome! so much better than a regular wider spatula. i also loved how it came with instructions on how to make the bread and even how to make your own starter. the temperature sticker is super cool and useful, especially if you’re having trouble with your starter rising. it can give you the insight on wether or not it’s because of the temperature. highly recommend this complete kit for anyone who is wanting to start making sourdough like me! all i need now is a dutch oven and im all set!

Some of it I liked, some it I don't like, if you're new to making bread in general and starting sour dough, it's an awesome kit. I have made bread several times before and I've found the basket and the cloth cover to be a hassle and have used it twice. It dries out the rising bread too much, giving the top a crust that's annoying. I've never used the silicone mat, have never felt the need to. Everything else is awesome. Especially the dough whisk, don't know what I've done without it. While I don't use the recipe it gives or the instructions, it was very useful to refer to when I first started sour dough. I still think the kit is worth getting wherever you are at in sourdough making, if you don't have singles of these tools, but for me personally the basket and mat are pretty useless, the rest I love and use regularly for bread and other baking.

This inexpensive collection of tools set me up perfectly for my introduction to sourdough baking. I also found 2 high quality Dutch Ovens to bake both boule and loaf shaped loaves on sale. Amazon comes through again.
