Smooth and effective.
This iron is smooth like buttah. Steam is consistent and effective, making ironing a better experience and that's a big deal to me. Does a great job on all my clothes (haven't tried linen yet). Not sure if it's faster, but it provides quality.

I never thought the day would come when I would enjoy ironing.
This iron is truly wonderful. At first, I wasn't quite sure how to adjust the steam settings, and the water would run out very quickly; but once I figured it out, everything turned out impeccably, and I enjoyed ironing every single garment. This iron cut my workload in half—and that’s despite the fact that my ironing board is useless; it’s just too old. I’ve now ordered a new one and can’t wait for it to arrive so I can get back to ironing. If you buy it, you won't regret it. It is well worth the investment. Why didn't I buy this sooner?!

Best Iron For Sewing
I am a seamstress and use my iron for hours at a time, several days a week. I have probably had about 7 irons over the course of over 50 years (one lasted 40 years and it still works as my backup) and this one comes in at the top of the list. So 6 of those irons were in the last 10 years. For seamstresses who like Reliable brand sewing irons, this Chi is superior to that. I will have to warn you that if you are looking for something lightweight, this one isn't for you. I like my irons sturdy and heavy duty and this one meets that requirement. Go check out the listing and look at all of the holes in the plate. I have had this iron for a year now and will buy another one after its worn out. I am very hard on my irons!

Great iron with one pointless design flaw.
This is a great iron. It heats up fast, steams well, and overall it removes wrinkles better than any other iron I’ve used. There is one design flaw, and I can’t believe they overlook this. It is very difficult to tell how much water is in the tank. The plastic on the outside of the water tank is hard to see through. You don’t know when you’re low on water and you don’t know when to stop when you’re filling it up. I would’ve given it five stars if it weren’t for this issue. It’s a pretty stupid design mistake, but if you can deal with it, it’s a great iron.

Definitely would recommend this product!!!
5 stars for this professional quality steam iron. Gets rid of wrinkles with a blast.💨 I got lucky as this $140 Iron was delivered to one of my neighbors home. The above picture is not my home. This item was not disguised but had it's original packaging. Thank goodness my neighbors are honest.

STOP! After a little over a year. REAL REVIEW.
I have ironed every working day since high school. I am 63 years old. This is by far the, the worst iron I have ever used. Initially, very high hopes. Let me detail in the kindest way possible. First and foremost. The steam is pretty good but it should be hooked directly to a water source for that reason. It will iron a cotton shirt ( XL) and a pair of cotton pants ( 40x32, high side) but your tank will be empty and nearly impossible to visualize because of thick red container. If you have knuckles, move onto another iron. As you iron, you unknowingly hit the dial awkwardly placed inside the handle and switch settings. Catastrophic if you’re in a hurry. The ceramic or titanium-whatever, plate that touches your clothing loses its paint surface after 6 months or so. The iron then deposits brown rust stains to your clothing without warning( See photo of rust stains on khakis that were ruined by this CHI iron. I had to throw them out.) Self-clean does not seem to do anything. The absolute worst part of this over-priced iron is the cord! It is nearly impossible to retract without getting burned and serves no purpose. I have to admit, until today and reading description, I forgot it had a retractable cord. I literally use it every day and leave it plugged in. The cord, over time ( well less than a year, however,) becomes a brittle knotted mess that cannot be untangled as you would with a phone cord or vacuum cord, etc. It is a very intense, high anxiety Art to attempt to iron while pulling the cord without unplugging it. Hold your clothing down , hold the cord at least two to three feet away and pull the steaming hot 1700 watt iron with ALL of your might to attempt to detangle just enough to touch iron to ironing surface. This is the most costly iron I have bought. I know I am excessive when it comes to sharp creases and starting my day looking like a United States Marine. You most likely won’t use yours to the extent that I rely on mine. If you need or like to iron like I do, this is not the best option just because it is more expensive. I’m sorry to say, it is just not a good iron. Not at any price. Not even a little bit. The reviews you see are “ out of the box” high expectation reviews as my initial one was. * Purchased October 2024. Thank you for looking.

Works well, but the spray button stopped working(
This iron heats up quickly, glides smoothly, and doesn’t stick to clothes. The temperature is easy to adjust, and it’s very simple to use. The only issue is that the water spray button stopped working after about five months, even though I don’t use the iron very often. Thankfully, the steam function still works fine, so it’s still been useful overall.

Not working. Water leaking. Wire not spinning back
Extreamly disappointed. The water is leaking. The wire not returning to original position. It already burnt 3 of my adaptors as in Dubai we have different plug. Seller please contact me to arrange return and refund. Terrible product

Professional Seamstress Approved — So Far, I Love It
As a professional seamstress, I’ve been through a lot of irons—Black & Decker, Sunbeam, multiple Rowentas, even an Oliso. Each one eventually disappointed me, usually by leaking, shutting off too soon, or taking forever to heat up. So when I bought the CHI Lava Iron, I was taking a risk on a brand I’d never heard of. But I was desperate for an iron that doesn’t leak, heats up fast, holds plenty of water, and stays hot long enough to actually get work done. After a month or two of daily use, I can honestly say: I love it. - 🔥 Heats up in under a minute—a huge time-saver. - 🧱 The lava ceramic soleplate glides beautifully and holds heat well. - 💨 Steam output is powerful—almost too powerful on the burst setting. If I could tone that down a bit, I would. - 💧 No leaks so far, even when full. (Pro tip: wait until it’s fully hot before tipping—makes all the difference.) - 🕒 Auto shutoff is 30 minutes, which is far better than the 8–12 minutes on most irons. Still not ideal for quilters or seamstresses, but manageable. - ⚖️ Weight is perfect—not too heavy, but heavy enough that I don’t have to push down to get crisp seams. - 💡 Dial is smooth and continuous, not clicky, which threw me at first—but now I love it. One quick turn and I’m at the highest setting. - 💦 Water tank is generous, though the dark plastic makes it hard to see the water level. - 🔺 Precision tip is excellent for darts, pleats, and tight corners. I’ll update this review if anything changes, but for now, this iron is exceeding my expectations—especially at this price point. If you’re a serious sewer or quilter, this one’s worth a look.

It’s a great iron!
I saw negative reviews but I did my own research on many platforms and I’m tremendously happy with this iron. heats up almost instantly, glides like butter, and a strong steam that gets the toughest wrinkles flat and smooth in seconds! I love love this iron! It’s not so heavy yet not so lightweight, it doesn’t feel cheap at all, it feels sturdy and good quality. The retractable cord makes storing easy and tidy.

Excelente plancha
