Great book with a great message! My 10 yr old niece loved it and recommended I read it. I loved it so I gave it to my 73 yr old mother to read and she loved it too! Highly recommend! Now I want to read other books by this author too!

I loved how the author led us through Willodeen's learning journey to finding her voice. The symbolism and metaphors of the characters/animals said so much about caring for nature, yet it was not preachy. Full of adventure and suspense, it was a great read.

Willodeen is a fun story and a perfect gift for any kid at any age. I enjoyed reading it with my daughter and I'm an adult. There are more books by this author and I can't wait to order them. It is a magical fantasy story about bravery and standing up for yourself. I really enjoyed it!

This is a cute book and my son read it as part of a book club. The only thing that’s noteworthy is that the main character, willodeen lives with her neighbors who are two women. The book doesn’t directly say they are a same sex couple but those are the vibes it was giving off. The main character also experiences a lot of tragedy and loss in this book. Just something to be aware of.

I read this with my 9 year old daughter and we both really enjoyed the book. It was beautifully written, full of a fun imaginative world and creatures. I loved the focus on nature and our interconnectedness. My daughter loves all books by this author, but this one was my first and I thought it was fantastic. There is talk of death of parents and sibling due to fire, so that's something to be aware of if you have a sensitive kid or one who has lost a parent. But it also is about a child standing up for something, finding family in those around her, and loving nature.

This is one of my 10 year old daughter's favorite books. We've bought it several times now to give as gifts to other kids in the same age range, and they all have loved it. This was an amazing deal on the hardcover printing. 5 Stars.

I loved this book! It is precious, sweet and adorable, and gives a really wonderful message about environmental Care. I have given it to a friend who shares it with her grandchildren, I gave it to my adult daughter who is a climate scientist, it is wonderful for anyone who is sensitive to animals, children and the environment.

A wonderful book about friendship, nature, and the impact people have on the environment. Starts off slow but builds in the middle. My send grade students loved this book.
