The packaging near non existant. This could be down to the courier but the wear and tear was ridiculous so i know the seller didnt bother too package it properly. Not acceptable for a desk costing 150 quid. I had to check the pieces before signing for it.Building it was a nightmare. Ive worked with my hands my whole adult life and always dread building flat pack items cuz its boring and effortless but this was a battle. You wont be able to simply put it together with a screwdriver. A drill is required for putting holes through the top piece of wood so the other top part can sit on top of it. Thats down to the design but you should be aware of this incase you dont have tools at hand.Many of the screws didnt fit and the heads simply rounded when any pressure was applied. the 50mm screws supplied are far too long and plainly just dont fit. A lot of the holes that are meant to be already there for you wernt there in my case so i had to do that myself. I battled to get the cupboard door straight. The pre drilled holes for the hinges were easily a good 5 mm out were no use. Left the door lop sided and stuck. The drawer will require some doctoring aswell to get right. The instructions are simple enough and easy to follow. Had the parts been labelled like theyre supposed to be it would have made life easier but it wont stop you putting it together. Hands down the most awkward and stress inducing piece of flat pack ive put together.Once it was altogether though i was very happy. Its solid and looks great. The wood grain is lovely and doesnt look like laminated chipboard. Despite the nightmare putting it together i dont regret my purchase. Its a beautiful desk worth the price. Id reccomend fitting some LEDs in the shelves like i did to light them up. I still think some of the design decisions are not great but taking into account work space, sturdiness and price of the desk, it is a pretty good choice :)Original Review:I am not a DYI expert by no stretch of imagination but I did assemble dozens of furniture throughout the years. I have found this desk to be really tricky to assemble. One part got damaged in the process (screws from door hinges went all the way through the plywood, looks like they were couple/few mm too long).But the biggest complain is that once it's assembled it's very difficult to take apart. In other words, if you are one of the people that like to rearrange things from time to time or you are planning to move in a near future, you might want to look for a different desk, the one that you can easily take apart/move :)Really questionable design choices (drilling screws through plywood, rather permanent solution...)!?! IKEA it ain't ;)All that said, once it's assembled it offers a great working/storage space.Assembly/Design choices: 1Working/storage space: 5 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars A huge good quality desk *by D***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2020* The very first thing to mention about this desk is its size, it has a huge working area with plenty of extra (height adjustable) storage room. I would make sure to double check that it will fit into the space you want it to before purchasing. As it is able to be assembled in 4 different ways, however, it is quite flexible in terms of where it can be placed.It arrived in two seperate quite heavy boxes which may be a little difficult to move with just one person but is still doable. The assembly instructions were very clear and comprehensive, they were easy to follow and gave more than enough detail to make putting it together quite easy no matter which of the 4 ways you want to have it. It does say that a drill is required but in reality it is not absolutely necessary, a drill would certainly make things easier but I was able to do the entire thing without one using just a screwdriver instead.I wasn't in any rush and completed the assembly by myself over the course of an evening, but it could probably be put together in an hour or two if needed and with a second person to help. The only real issue with building it was simply due to the large size and weight of the main panel which made it a little difficult to move off the floor and into position.The finished unit is very sturdy and doesn't feel cheap at all.
