I bought what was sold as gold leaf on a different site and when it got to me it was basically aluminum foil.** A: I think you’ll find that this is similar to real gold leaf. You’ll want to get a clear varnish to seal it though as I understand it since it’s made of copper it will patina. I think you’ll find that this is similar to real gold leaf. I felt like it was fairly easy to use -very nice way that they packed the paper as there is a piece of tissue between each piece of leaf. For the price I was able to accomplish my gold leaf ceiling, with no regrets **Q: Can this be used with polymer clay?** A: I'm not sure. It is very fragile but is good color and gold flecking. **Q: Can I cut this with scissors or is it too brittle?** A: Yes, you could cut it with scissors, but they are very thin and difficult to cut with any precision. I do however sometimes cut them into smaller pieces as they are easier to apply being small. When i do cut them i leave the backing paper in place. **Q: Can I tear this foil for a rough edge?** A: I tried tearing a page and it does tear. However, i have always used rough brush strokes on the edges when applying sizing and this also produces a rough edge.
