I bought the Kelty Cosmic Down 20 for fall backpacking trips and so far it has totally exceeded expectations. It kept me warm in temps down to the high 20s °F with just a base layer and a decent sleeping pad. The down insulation lofts up nicely, and I really like the hood and draft collar features—little things that make a big difference on cold nights. It packs down smaller than I expected (fits in my 50L pack with room to spare), and for the price, this is probably one of the best value down bags out there. It's not ultralight, but it's light enough for most weekend or multi-day hikes. Only downside is the mummy shape is a bit snug if you toss and turn. But the footbox has enough space and I still slept comfortably. Highly recommend for 3-season use if you want warmth and quality without breaking the bank.

Excellent bag, well built, lightweight, and warm, perfect for backpacking. Comfortable down to about freezing (32°f). I am 6' 2" tall, about 26" across at the shoulder. I purchased the long version. Length is good probably fit a guy up to 6' 6". However the bag is "snug" at the shoulder and arms. Not tight per say but not a lot of room eather. Difficult to fully zip and unzip because it is tight with one arm flexed or "bent" in order to zip. If you are a barrel chested, muscular, or husky man you are not going to like this bag. I have taken to using it as a blanket. Otherwise very happy.

Very warm, high quality bag! I’ve owned several sleeping bags and I got this as a spare but I wanted to try it out and was very pleasantly surprised! Not only was the stitching and zipper high quality, but it retained heat much better than I expected for how light it is. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in need of a sleeping bag!

First off, the vast majority of my reviews seem to be complaints about a product. However, this is not one of those reviews. This bag is legit for a down bag, and especially comfortable. For full disclosure, I’ve only slept in the bag in my garage and inside a bivy cover (until I get the chance to get to the field). My thermometer in the garage read 28*F. I slept in gym shorts, a short sleeve tee, and some wool socks. I also used a 4.6R air mat. I stayed completely comfortable. Granted there’s no wind chill in my garage, it would be similar conditions while sleeping in my one-man tent. You really can’t beat the price for this bag while coming from a reputable hiking brand. For what it’s worth, I highly recommend this.

This is my first down feather sleeping bag, and I loved it! It's perfect for a cool weather backpacking trip. On a two night trip my son spent the first night in it with the temperatures down to low 50s, and I used it the 2nd night with the temp dropping to the lower 40s. I could tell this was well above the comfort rating as I never fully zipped it up and spent half the night with it hardly zipped at all. I spent that night in a hammock, and I did have an under quilt for that as well. It was easy to fit into the stuff sack and could get down smaller with compression. I do wish it would have come with a storage bag as well. The bag is much lighter and stuffs down much smaller than any of the synthetic bags I've bought in the past. Now that I've got a taste of the good life, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to go back.
