The dominant one gets along with him; the other does not. (The other was the recent stray before him - by 5 years.) After dealing with them having issues and fighting with each other, I decided that this gate would be less expensive than visits to the vet if they hurt each other.It also works to keep them out of the kitchen when I'm cooking or eating. (The dominant one is a beggar!)I am glad I got it; it's very sturdy. I expect to take it down at some point and save it for the next time I have a stray cat who needs to adjust to our home or be accepted by the other cats. (I live on a dead end street; strays and pet dumping is unlikely to ever end. Because people....)Some buyers have complained about the latch breaking. I have not had that problem and have had the gate for several months now.Despite the height, the 1 yo stray cat is able to jump over it.
