When you live in the southern states with severe storms and high winds this method of installing shutters is the only way to go. The shutter pins that come with the shutters don't hold up. After a couple years they shear off and are a pain to drill out. Save yourself some work and install with screws the first time. Great kit at a fair price

Nothing wrong with quality, but when you're on a ladder leaning up against a house or hanging out a window, you'll find that trying to push hard enough against a philips head screw so that it doesn't shred the head from slipping difficult. Would need to drill a pilot hole. Switched to a torx drive and it worked great.

These fasteners work perfectly with line shading whole expanders. Secure very tightly to brick or martyr joint and caps neatly cover, screw heads

Our shutters were installed with the black plastic screws supplied. Over the past 2 or 3 years, heavy winds ripped a few shutters off the house, so I bought these screws to replace the plastic screws. No question that these will hold better than plastic. You get the little black caps to make these blend in as the plastic ones do but with an actual metal screw to hold them on the house during high winds. When I add more shutters to the house, I'll use these and dump the plastic ones.

Great for shutters and very easy to use

The plastic pieces are cheap, but work just fine. The screws are very cheap and I ended up throwing them away after 2 shutters as they kept stripping out. I replaced them with other screws I had laying around instead. Next time I would just buy th plastic pieces only.
