I quit, so it does work. It might take you several months and lots of gum chewing but eventually you don't like the taste of the gum anymore and you have quit. Stick with it. It is fairly expensive but quitting saves money in the long run, so its worth the expensive and it does work out cheaper than cigerettes. It does provide relief, just make sure you get the right strength gum for where you are at with smoking and slowly reduce the strength. Don't feel you have to rush stopping the gum. Don't smoke even if you want to, just chew a fresh piece of gum instead and the craving will stop. The first couple of weeks are the hardest. The gum is good quality and gives your brain and mouth something to do/think about to take your mind of smoking and not eat all the food in your cupboards. Using the gum also breaks the habit of holding a cigerette in your hand. Going for walks also helps. I still keep a few Nicorette Gums in my cupboard just in case, but haven't needed to use them.
