Not smooth at all no vanilla flavour either
Very misleading advert and goodness knows where those reviews come from. This is a regular Jameson whisky. There is no vanilla or smoothness whatsoever and gives a banging headache too.

Damaged item.
The item was damaged from the outer box all the way through to the item itself, this was meant to be an xmas gift but can't be now.

Different bottle from picture
Ordered two bottles and the bottles which arrived were not the same as the ones in the picture! Might be the same whisky inside, but when you like the bottle and you see the bottle in the picture, you don't expect to receive something completely different. Maybe the bottle pre 2010 or something!

Smooth, rich and easy to enjoy – a noticeable step up from standard Jameson
This is definitely a step up from the standard Jameson. It’s noticeably richer and smoother, with more depth to the flavour, but still very easy to drink. The first thing you notice is the sweetness – there are strong notes of vanilla, caramel and a bit of toasted oak coming through. It’s smooth on the palate with a slightly creamy feel, and there’s a gentle spice at the end that gives it a bit of character without being harsh. It works really well neat or over ice, and it’s also great for something like an Old Fashioned if you want a bit more flavour than regular Jameson. Only downside is that it’s still quite easy-drinking, so if you’re after something really bold or complex, this might feel a bit light. Overall though, a really solid whisky for the price – smooth, slightly sweet, and very easy to go back for another glass (which probably explains why it didn’t last long)

Not bad at all
Sweet and faintly oaky on the nose and the palate, the smoke and charred wood only come through on the finish and work well to bring some balance. Extremely smooth, much moreso than standard Jameson, and priced just right at £25. If I had paid much more for it, I would not rate it as highly - it is good whiskey, but it's nothing to get excited about. I wasn't a big fan of Jameson until recently, but this and their Caskmates bottlings are starting to change my mind!

Not what I was expecting
In the write up it said toffe flavour I can assure you that this doesn't taste like toffe. A nice whiskey all the same but not as smooth as the regular Jameson's

Not great, Jameson IPA is better
It’s not great. The taste is subtle, reminds me of linseed, that’s about it. I think Jameson IPA is far better (dark fruits). The Black barrel was bland. Save your money and pay a bit extra. I would suggest Bunnahabhain 12 or Arran 10. It’s a tenner more but a lot better experience. 6/12 - I poured this into a decanter and left it for three days. I definitely tastes better. More fruity than when I first opened it. I have now scored it a three. If it improves over time I will reassess. Conclusion- I think it’s ok if you are getting into whisky but I would put the original Jameson ahead of it and the Jameson IPA is far superior (in my opinion).
