Kavalan Classic Single Malt Whisky, 70 cl

I first tried this whisky in Edinburgh and loved it straight away, it's smooth and easy drinking and is now my favourite whisky, it normally takes some doing to drag me away from a Scottish distilled whisky. This one is made in Taiwan and was a gold medal winner in 2015. If your looking for something special this is definitely the one.

My favourite tipple - warming, rich, spicy and beautifully smooth - this is my favourite whisky and I'd urge anyone to give it try if you haven't yet - its an all round crowd pleaser. Arrived as promised and well packaged

I wanted to try something different, and this was it. Nice whisky but not a great. However, the wife loves the bottle.

I'm usually a single-malt scotch drinker, and a 'soft' single malt at that (Glen Grant, Speyburn, Glen Ord, Dalwhinnie) but have started to broaden my horizons. I prefer a mellow/smooth scotch to a harsh peaty/smoky one, and was looking for something different and something a bit sweeter for the summer. I'd already tried a Japanese Nikka From the Barrel and enjoyed that, Kavalan is similar - perhaps with even sweeter vanilla notes. Very enjoyable!

Ich gebe zu, auch bei mir gab es Vorbehalte hinsichtlich der Herkunft. Auseinandergesetzt mit der Lagerung und Reifung bzw Dauer ist klar, warum der Whisky aus Taiwan auch deutlich teurer daherkommt. Durch die Temperatur ist der Anteil des Angelshares deutlich Höher als in Schottland. In Schottland geht man von etwa 2% pro Jahr aus. In Taiwan schätzt man etwa 12 bis 16% je nach Temperatur. Klar ist, weniger Destillat ergibt einen höheren Preis. Aber auch geschmacklich kann der Whisky überzeugen... der Whisky ist 4 Jahre alt und besteht aus einem Mix aus Fässern, welche geschmacklich auch etwas durchkommen. Aroma: Birne, Früchte und ungewöhnlich süss. Honig, Sherry und Rotweinnoten. Erinnert ein wenig an die Speyside. Geschmack: Vanille, Honig, Süsse und sehr ungewöhnlich Pfirsich. Er enthält leichte Bitternoten. Für mich war es eine außergewöhnliche Reise meines Gaumens nach Fernost.

Découvert par hasard quand on me l'a offert, ce whisky est mon préféré et de loin. Facile d'accès mais complexe en bouche, il est parfait pour initier un non connaisseur au whisky avec un produit de très grande qualité !

J avais déjà un oeil sur ce whisky depuis quelques temps et j ai profité d une promotion du jour Amazon pour me lancer et c est vraiment sans aucun regret. Je le trouve doux et même si ce n est pas ce que je préfère j en racheterai car il va convenir à beaucoup de palais et ravira mes invités. Je recommande sans problème
